Jersey Mike's, 5594 Sunset Boulevard Suite B: January 2023 1 comment
This location of Jersey Mike's on Sunset by Krispy Kreme, seems to have closed in Jaunary. I didn't see any sign on the door when I went by, and there's nothing about it on the Facebook page (which remains active with corporate level posts), but the individual web site for the store is gone as well.

B's Restaurant & Sports Pub, 2742 North Lake Drive: 17 December 2023 1 comment
B's was the follow-on in this location to Beef O'Brady's, and opened in late 2018.
According to their Facebook, 17 December 2023 was their last day, which is not a bad run given a pandemic in the midst of it.
Commenter Andrew reports the space is setting up to be Cheesy Pint Pizzeria.
UPDATE 5 June 2024 -- Cheesy Pint is open:

Adventure Falls Golf, 735 US-17 Business (Surfside Beach): 17 September 2023 no comments
I always wanted to play this old-school mini-golf course in Surfside, across from the old Wild Water & Wheels, but in the event we usually ended up at one closer to Pawleys. Still, you really haven't had the beach golf experience unless you've played a course with an octopus!
The course was opened in 1989, making it a 34 year run. However, it sounds like the current plan is (or at least was) to build two new courses in the space, so we'll have to see what happens. As of December of 2023, the place had been razed down to the ground.
Forest Plaza, 5115 Forest Drive: February 2024 no comments
I know I had seen this little plaza thousands of times over the years of living in the area, but it never impinged on my consciousness as I never had to visit any business hosted there. I was a bit surprised to find, on hearing it had been razed and going to check it out, that it is quite an elevated lot, towering over the road, and the neighboring dental office.
Commenter Larry reports that this, like the adjacent two properties (the former Turning Pointe & Marlboro Inn) has been bought by the Lexington Medical Group.

The Forms Boutique, 3308 Forest Drive: 2023 no comments
Post-cancer apparel shop The Forms Boutique moved from Devine Street to this Richland Mall outparcel in 2011.
I can't find anything definitive online, but it appears that they closed for good last year.
Shealy's PDQ Too, 1 Crystal Springs Road: February 2023 (Rebrand) no comments
When commenter Gypsie posted that Shealy's PDQ Too had closed, I speculated that I had probably never in my life been down that stretch of road.
After driving out there, I can confirm it: Definitely countryside I had not seen before.
It appears to me from looking at the web that this is more a re-brand than an actual closing and follow-on operation. The Farmhouse Grill Facebook page carries over some Shealy's logos, along with questions from visitors about the new sign. I didn't see any statement about it, but it seems clear from this and the fact that the phone number has not changed that it's generally the same place.
The menu looks pretty good.

Compton's Kitchen, 118 B Avenue: February 2024 2 comments
Compton's Kitchen was a family run meat-and-three which has been around since late 1977 in several different locations. including Topspin Plaza in Lexington, ending up in this Triangle City storefront. I never ate there, but I like the murals.
Nobody seems exactly sure when the place closed, but it was definitely gone by mid February, so I'll just go with "February 2024". Both The Post & Courier and The State have stories, here and here

Richland Mall Demolition, 3400 Forest Drive: February 2024 etc 63 comments
As of yet the demolition appears to be limited to taking down some parking lot lights and cutting some trees. I would guess not much interior teardown has been done, because I don't see a lot of refuse & dumpsters, but that's just a guess.
I'll keep updating this post as the demolition continues...
UPDATE 14 September -- The dates of this are going to be confusing. I normally date UPDATE notes with the date I make the update (like this note), not the date I took the pictures, but for this post I will mainly be doing the date of the pictures, though I probably got that confused in a number of cases. Oh well.
Here are some nostalgia and exploration videos about Richland Mall that commenters have pointed out to me:
Bojangles, 4301 Fort Jackson Boulevard: February 2024 (Open Again) no comments
The Bojangles at Cross Hill Market on the corner of Cross Hill Road, Fort Jackson Boulevard & Devine Street has been razed. The restaurant is to be built back with two drive-through lanes and patio seating. You can read about it on WLTX or at The Post & Courier.
There doesn't seem to be a firm date to expect the new building to be in service.

UPDATE 25 June 2024 -- In these pictures from 9 June, the new building is coming along:
1 October 2024 -- Open again:
