Jewelry Warehouse, 5134 Sunset Boulevard: 2 May 2019 2 comments
This store closed at the same time as the Parkland Plaza store, but I kept forgetting to get pictures of it until it caught my eye the other night. As of now, six months later, the building is still to be re-purposed. WLTX has the story of the chain's foreclosure.

Well, the situation for Jewelry Warehouse and its associated sports memoribilia stores seems rather confusing. Here is a State story on the situation, and here is one from Columbia Business Report.
I think the upshot is that while there are statements from the business that they will be back, those have probably been overtaken by events (and by the Department of Revenue). The sums owed seem quite large, and I suspect they were optimistically thinking they could turn the situation around, and overextended their resources without being able in the end to make that happen.

Jewelry Warehouse, 1270 Bower Parkway: July 2018 4 comments
I've never been in this store, but from the outside, it appears to be *huge*, occupying several potential storefronts.
The store moved to here from its original location on Saint Andrews Road back in 2010, and has, according to its Facebook page, now started its closing sale. I'm not sure how long that will last (apparently through 30 June for sure), so I am listing the closing date as July 2018 for now.

Jewelry Warehouse, 817 Saint Andrews Road Suite 101: 2010 6 comments
When I was taking pictures of Save a Lot on Saint Andrews Road, I noticed this vacant corner suite. I had no memory of it, despite having taken pictures there a number of times, but a little digging established that this was a Jewelry Warehouse location. Specifically, it was The State recommending the spot for
a commemorative poster featuring our next-day newspaper and sports section front pages
(of the USC baseball team's national championship) that included the elusive suite number.
If that was the last tenant, this spot has been vacant going on 7 years now.

Jewelry Warehouse, 2909 Platt Springs Road: May 2013 (Relocating) 8 comments
Platt Springs road has an improbable number of jewelry stores, but now there is one less, and Lonely Street is in fact a bit more lonely..
According to their ad, Jewelry Warehouse had been there since 1977. Now they have closed their flagship store, and are in the process (which seems a bit protracted) of moving to Parkland Plaza and into the old Parkland Pharmacy location.
