The Bent Rod, 10024 Highway 17 South (McClellanville): Early 2026 6 comments
The Bent Rod replaced (after a hiatus) the more celebrated Crab Pot Restaruant which closed around 2010. The reviews are mixed, but seem to converge on the positive with a bit of "for in the middle of nowhere" vibe to them. The latest of those reviews say "8 months ago", so I am guessing the place folded sometime early in 2026.
I'm not quite sure what to make of the sign, which if I do my Roman Numerals right is: I Thank You 1945.

@Andrew -- right you are. My eyes were automatically inserting an extra 'M' due to trying to figure out the copyright dates on too many old movies (ie: MCMVL).

I'd be listing an old book for sale on eBay with copyright dates in Roman numerals and I'd always inevitably key it in to a search engine to be sure I have it straight (back when I used to do such things)...

On the slim chance that this isn't a "Whoosh," they ran out of letters so they abbreviated "McClellanville."
