I've never been in this store, but from the outside, it appears to be *huge*, occupying several potential storefronts.

The store moved to here from its original location on Saint Andrews Road back in 2010, and has, according to its Facebook page, now started its closing sale. I'm not sure how long that will last (apparently through 30 June for sure), so I am listing the closing date as July 2018 for now.

  1. Yeah, it WAS huge, because it had massive sections dedicated to their sports- and state-related apparel/paraphernalia ventures. Shocked this is closing, as I always thought of this as their flagship store (they would probably say the W. Columbia one, but this size is the difference, to me).

  2. I went by there yesterday. I asked a clerk why they were closing and she said their lease was up. Most of the good Gamecock stuff was gone and the bulk of it was t-shirts, most of them just 20% off.

  3. I'm beginning to think this shopping center is just too expensive. I know several tenants have been unable to negotiate new leases there. Perhaps the shopping center is just so heavily leveraged that it has to charge more than businesses can justify to locate there. It wouldn't surprise me to see a foreclosure or bankruptcy, and creditors eating an excrement sandwich to bring things to some kind of equilibrium. As a side note, I'd be looking for Copper River to fold soon. We had a horrible experience there recently, and recent reviews show it's becoming the norm. I was mentally checking off Ted's Rules...

  4. @Heath - Wow, I had to go and read the reviews for Copper River after your post. Holy SMOKES, I don't think I ever read so many bad reviews for a restaurant before. You're right, that place will be closed very soon.
