When I was taking pictures of Save a Lot on Saint Andrews Road, I noticed this vacant corner suite. I had no memory of it, despite having taken pictures there a number of times, but a little digging established that this was a Jewelry Warehouse location. Specifically, it was The State recommending the spot for

a commemorative poster featuring our next-day newspaper and sports section front pages

(of the USC baseball team's national championship) that included the elusive suite number.

If that was the last tenant, this spot has been vacant going on 7 years now.

  1. You are correct. It has been vacant since the JW moved from here to Bower's Parkway.

  2. I remember going to that JW about 10 years ago. That Save-A-Lot was still a Kroger (?) and my employer at the time, SC Student Loan, was still across I-26. Feels like a past life now.

  3. Jewelry Warehouse moved out to Bower Parkway in September of 2010...it was originally to be mid-late August but they closed but wound up reopening for a few weeks while construction could finish...I remember radio ads being run saying they were trying everything they could to finish it in time, etc. but construction delays were unavoidable...this spot has been vacant ever since and obviously Kroger has since closed (but now Roses is there and it remains to see what will become of the former Save-a-Lot)...

  4. I just received a postcard from the Bower Parkway location that replaced this one. Apparently it's closing, with a "preview sale" for preferred customers on 6/21-6/23. So much for my tradition of picking up "Beat *insert team here" stickers before football games.

  5. Surprised to hear that Bower Parkway location is closing. Every time I have gone in there it seemed to be busy. Guess the rent was too high.

  6. Folks it has become apparent to me that this is now home to Venus 817 (which appears to be an event center similar to what has taken over the former Fuddrucker's)
