Rite Aid, 500 West Main Street (Lexington): 15 June 2018 3 comments
If you look closely, you can see the Walgreens directly across the street at 423 West Main Street that put paid to this Rite Aid location.
I'm not sure how the other locations are doing it, but it appears this one closed for two days (13 & 14 June) to get ready for a liquidation sale on 15 June. I'm marking that as the closing date, though I suppose it could last several days.
UPDATE 3 November 2020 -- This building was razed some time ago, and construction on a new Murphy's is now well advanced:

UPDATE 6 March 2021 -- Now open as a Murphy's Express:
Tallulah, 2400 Devine Street: 3 June 2018 no comments
Tallulah was the follow-up operation to Dianne's On Devine, which closed in 2013. I'm afraid I never stopped by, and by all appearances, it was probably a bit more tony than the places I frequent anyway. From what I see googling around, it did get pretty good reviews.
Of course, good reviews don't necessarily fill tables, and this Free Times story indicates that may have been a problem.
I do have to admit, I could never see the name without thinking of this Van Morrison song:

Rite Aid, 7338 Broad River Road: 18 June 2018 2 comments
Not great pix, but here is another Rite Aid which has the misfortune to be directly across the street from a Walgreens (the one at 7412 Broad River Road). It's a decent location, perhaps CVS could move in. Their nearest store is at Saint Andrews Road, so that's really another market. Of course the Publix in the strip behind the store has a pharmacy as well, so there is still a bit of competition there.
The end here is slated for 18 June 2018.
Wisteria Aveda Salon, 631-14 Promenade Place: June 2018 2 comments
I know very little about hair salons, but apparently Wisteria is a chain which is still active in the Upstate. This particular location seems to have been active last month (May 2018) based on reviews, so I'm guessing the closing date was probably the start of June. (I'll also note that the reviews seem to have taken a dip recently, though in general the people most motivated to review are those who are unhappy..).
I didn't know where the place was, so I stopped to look at the Sandhill directory, which you can read if you click-through to the high res version. There are definitely a good few vacant spots on the map. With the recent bad news out of the place, you have to wonder what the future will bring.

IGA / Super G Foods, 21 C E Murphy Boulevard (Greeleyville): Circa 2013 2 comments
As I was driving through Greeleyville recently, I decided to see if the road by the high school cut back through to US-521 rather than just staying on 521 all the way. As it turns out, it doesn't quite, but comes close enough to see where you have to go to get back on the main route. At any rate, while I was doing that, I noticed this vacant grocery store. It was plainly an IGA at one time, but ended up as a Super G Foods (or Foo as the sign would now have it).
Google Maps suggests the address may be 21 C E Murphy Boulevard -- that's certainly the street name.
This article puts the closing date as bfore September 2013, and has pictures of the store in slightly less decrepit shape. It also notes that this was the only grocery in Greeleyville (which Wikipedia suggests had 375 souls in the 2009 census) and that residents must now drive to Kingstree for a real grocery store, which is a shame.
Harbor Inn, 411 West Main Street (Lexington): 2018 (rebranded) 4 comments
As reported by commenter John R, Harbor Inn in Lexington has been rebranded as Catch.
I was on the wrong side of the street to stop, but I was able to catch a few photos driving by the other day. Judging from the website, this is a reflagging, and the ownership is the same, as the phone number has not changed from that of Harbor Inn.
I believe that the Two Notch Road location of Harbor Inn is unaffected.

The Furniture Market / Jars Of Clay Ministry, 9661 Garners Ferry Road: 2017 (Moved) no comments
This former church & retail building is on the south-west corner of Garners Ferry Road & Horrell Hill Road. Judging from the date Google attaches to the LoopNet listing it has been vacant for somewhat over a year. You can see it in operation as Jars Of Clay in Google Streetview. (The Church is currently meeting at the Hampton Inn at I-77.).
This property is across the street from the former Somewhere In Time / Perkin' Beans location.
UPDATE 4 October 2022 -- Something is going on at this site:

Roof Jewelers, 6829 Two Notch Road: June 2018 (moving) 1 comment
I tend to end up at Roof about once a year, as it it my go-to place for watch batteries and watchbands. According to The State they will be moving to Four J's Plaza on Forest Drive sometime this month.
From my point of view, this is about a wash, location-wise as both addresses are fairly convenient for me. It is another hit for Dentsville though.
UPDATE 28 June 2018 -- The new location:
Pure Gas / The Needler, 102 East Main Street (Lexington): Mid March 2018 2 comments
It appears to me that The Needler may have occupied two buildings with a common wall, both the corner building with the historic plaque, and the brick building abuting it. While my grandmother tried to teach me how to knit once, I know very little about needlepoint, & cross stitch and the like. This SCETV story (with oddly somber music) gives a little background on the store and the needle arts.

UPDATE 1 July 2019 -- Commenter Todd Miller points out that this was most likely originally a Pure gas station. Looking at some old photos on the web, I think he's right, so I'm adding that the post title. Also, this place is now a restaurant called Nicky's Pizzeria:
UPDATE 30 April 2024: Update tags.
Delaney's Speakeasy, 711 Saluda Avenue: 1 June 2018 10 comments
Hmm. I'll admit I wasn't really aware there was a jazz club in Five Points. And I guess now, there's not. The State has the story. Apparently the place has been sold, though there is no information yet on what the next tenant will be.
