Rite Aid, 1215 Longreen Parkway: July 2018 3 comments
Another day, another Rite Aid. This one was on Longreen Parkway at Clemson Road. You can see it with all the branding in place at thie LoopNet listing.
I could be wrong, but at this point I believe the only Rite Aid still in operation as such is the Forest Acres one.

Locker Room, 4903 Forest Drive Suite B: June 2018 2 comments
Locker Room was the follow-up operation in this suite to Corma's Nutritional Supplements & More, which closed in 2015. With both Locker Room and Ed Robinson now recently gone, the building is completely vacant, and I have to wonder if it is long for the world. The building was clearly built as an old-school service station, and I have to think that property on this stretch of Forest Drive leading to the Interstate interchange is too valuable now to leave something like this taking up a lot. (Though I personally like the canopy look).
Rite Aid, 1501 Broad River Road: July 2018 11 comments
Here's another Rite Aid this one where the River Roads come together at Boozer Shopping Center. I am having a little trouble thinking of a Walgreens within a mile of here, which is the usual closing criteria for this transition.
Apparently the LoopNet folks decided they already had a photo on file and didn't need another one -- that's certainly a blast from the past.
UPDATE 20 June 2021 -- As mentioned in the comments, this place has been razed:

The Pantry / Kangaroo Express / KC Express / Circle K, 7735 Broad River Road: 2018 10 comments
There seems to be a little online confusion about the address here, but I'm pretty sure it's 7735 Broad River Road, as that is what the real estate listing and LoopNet say, regardless of what google thinks otherwise.
As you can see from the first two shots (from the Ed Robinson closing) this old-school convenience store was still in operation on 20 February 2018. At some point between then and 28 May 2018 when commenter Andrew reported it, the place closed and had the pump island and canopy torn down (and excavated).
Although I have seen places with two ongoing Circle Ks across the street from each other, most likely this one closed when the more modern one at 7710 Broad River Road came online just a bit nearer to the I-26 intersection:

Rite Aid, 500 West Main Street (Lexington): 15 June 2018 3 comments
If you look closely, you can see the Walgreens directly across the street at 423 West Main Street that put paid to this Rite Aid location.
I'm not sure how the other locations are doing it, but it appears this one closed for two days (13 & 14 June) to get ready for a liquidation sale on 15 June. I'm marking that as the closing date, though I suppose it could last several days.
UPDATE 3 November 2020 -- This building was razed some time ago, and construction on a new Murphy's is now well advanced:

UPDATE 6 March 2021 -- Now open as a Murphy's Express:
Rite Aid, 7338 Broad River Road: 18 June 2018 2 comments
Not great pix, but here is another Rite Aid which has the misfortune to be directly across the street from a Walgreens (the one at 7412 Broad River Road). It's a decent location, perhaps CVS could move in. Their nearest store is at Saint Andrews Road, so that's really another market. Of course the Publix in the strip behind the store has a pharmacy as well, so there is still a bit of competition there.
The end here is slated for 18 June 2018.
IGA / Super G Foods, 21 C E Murphy Boulevard (Greeleyville): Circa 2013 2 comments
As I was driving through Greeleyville recently, I decided to see if the road by the high school cut back through to US-521 rather than just staying on 521 all the way. As it turns out, it doesn't quite, but comes close enough to see where you have to go to get back on the main route. At any rate, while I was doing that, I noticed this vacant grocery store. It was plainly an IGA at one time, but ended up as a Super G Foods (or Foo as the sign would now have it).
Google Maps suggests the address may be 21 C E Murphy Boulevard -- that's certainly the street name.
This article puts the closing date as bfore September 2013, and has pictures of the store in slightly less decrepit shape. It also notes that this was the only grocery in Greeleyville (which Wikipedia suggests had 375 souls in the 2009 census) and that residents must now drive to Kingstree for a real grocery store, which is a shame.
Roof Jewelers, 6829 Two Notch Road: June 2018 (moving) 1 comment
I tend to end up at Roof about once a year, as it it my go-to place for watch batteries and watchbands. According to The State they will be moving to Four J's Plaza on Forest Drive sometime this month.
From my point of view, this is about a wash, location-wise as both addresses are fairly convenient for me. It is another hit for Dentsville though.
UPDATE 28 June 2018 -- The new location:
Rite Aid, 7900 Garners Ferry Road: 24 May 2018 2 comments
As predicted before, this Garners Ferry Rite Aid has closed due to its closeness to the Walgreens at 7801 Garners Ferry. For a big square building, I think it looks rather nice because of all the brick. There is growth in the area, but I'm not sure I can think of anything that might go into the building. Perhaps a medical office or Family Dollar type store as I have seen both in old pharmacy locations.
UPDATE 30 January 2019 -- As reported in the comments, this is now a Family Dollar:
