Barberitos, 105 Saluda Pointe Court Suite B, October 2017 10 comments
Well Barberitos at Saluda Pointe is definitely gone, and it looks like a complicated situation.
I actually ate at this location at least four or five times. I first encountered Barberitos in Fernandina Beach Florida and enjoyed it there. At the time I found it, I put it in the category hierarchy below Moe's but above Qdoba & Chipolte (I have yet to visit a Salsarita). The way Moe's has been imploding locally lately, I might have moved it to a regular lunch spot if it were in Forest Acres.
One thing I do find odd about the Columbia locations (here and in the Vista), is that while the Florida stores have the expected ground beef filling available, the Columbia stores have only ground turkey -- I was somewhat put off by that, and went with the veggie option. I don't know why that choice was made, or if it had an impact on sales here. The place was always pretty quiet when I would drop by, but I eat lunch so late that's not a good indicator.

The Little Gym, 5347 Sunset Boulevard Suite C: Summer 2017 no comments
I wasn't aware of this location of The Little Gym though my nieces have been happy to attend the one that is now on Rosewood over the years.
The papered over streetside sign makes it look as if Kristin's Cafe is in the spot now, but looking at the storefront itself, that does not seem to be the case.
I would say if you are going to try to get your Yeti engraved, you probably *should* have your guns & knives ready as well.

Crescent Moon, 2361 Augusta Highway: August 2017 5 comments
I was unaware of this Lexington establishment until commenter James R pointed out that it had closed. It's a ways out on the Western outskirts of Lexington where Pisgah Church Road hits US-1.
The State says they were there for four years, which really is not bad for a non-chain restaurant.

Rainy Day Pal Books, 711 East Main Street Suite H: 16 July 2017 1 comment
This old school used book store was on the upper level of the Old Mill on US-1 in Lexington. I stopped by back in May when I was having lunch at the brewpub. They had a nice selection of SF -- I even picked up some A. E. Van Vogt in French. Not that I could read them. At one time I probably had a grade-school understanding, but that's long gone. At any rate though, he always said he was more popular in France than the US because his translations were done by a French poet. They're certainly not exemplary prose in English, but that Van Vogt dream logic pulls you in..
The later pictures are from August.
There is a nice little farewell message on the shop's Facebook Page.

Southern Living Rooms & More / Hearing Associates of SC / Gateway Supply, 5315 Sunset Boulevard: 2016 (etc) (moved) 1 comment
It looks like the last tenant in this Sunset Boulevard suite in Lexington was Gateway Supply, a "plumbing and HVAC supply wholesaler". According to this story from August 2016, they have moved to a newly built location at Whiteford Way and North Lake Drive with this building being purchased by Cason Development Group for redevelopment -- the signs of which you can see in these pictures.
Some googling suggessts that before Gateway, the building was divided into two suites with Southern Living Rooms & More being in Suite A, and audiologists Hearing Associates of SC in Suite B.
Hot 4 Wings, 5454 Sunset Boulevard Suite E: July 2017 2 comments
The impending closing of this Lexington Publix plaza wing stop was noted a while ago by commenter Ed, and commenter Brian confirmed the actual closing a bit later. The first shot shows the place still in operation and the later shots are from afterwards.
Curiously, Hot 4 Wings was just a few suites down from Wing Nuts, which shuttered in March 2014.

Aldi, 5182 Sunset Boulevard: 30 May 2017 (temporary) 5 comments
As the store on Saint Andrews Road did earlier, the new-ish Aldi in Lexington has closed for a complete remodel. The signs say that they are slated to be back on 29 June 2017. That may be pusing it: That's less than 15 days away, and the store appears completely gutted now.
Looking back, the old Bike To Nature building was still here in August of 2013, and construction of this store still had not started in February of 2014, so they are doing a complete upfit after being open less than three years..

Allstar Pizza, 1965 Augusta Highway: Fall 2016 no comments
Not sure exactly when Allstar closed, but Columbiafoodienews says that Papa Gios was prepping this spot to open on 16 December 2016, so Allstar must have been closed for probably a month or more by then. I'm just going to say "Fall 2016".
I do love me some pizza, but I never made it to this spot. Lexington is a good drive, and if it were normal hours, and I were going that far, I would probably get some Parthenon style pizza at Pizzeria Opa or it it were later, Uno.
Interestingly, Papa Gios seems to have all its locations in Orlando and the Midlands, which is a fairly unusual distribution.

Lake Murray Crossfit, 929 North Lake Drive: 1 comment
Come to Lake Murray Crossfit and get your drink on. Well not exactly perhaps, but the signage is still there. Commenter John R says that they have moved to the Old Mill.
I think the last time I was at Pastime Pavilion, I had driven all the over from Forest Acres to see "Mad Max" only to find out when I got there that I had read the listings wrong, and what was playing was "Max" a movie about a dog.

Family Christian Stores, 5541 Sunset Boulevard: April 2017 1 comment
I took these pictures a few weeks ago -- I'm working on the assumption that this place is now closed.
At any rate, this closing is part and parcel of the bankruptcy described in this post.
I wonder what "Acorn" is..
