East Coast Granite & Marble of Columbia, 3119 Sunset Boulevard: 2021 (Moved) no comments
East Coast Granite & Marble was the follow-on operation in this former residence on Sunset Boulevard after Chandler Chiropractic relocated. As far as I can tell, East Coast has also relocated, to 1809 Sunset Boulevard, which is on the other side of I-26 from here.
Variety & ?, 2009 Leesburg Road: Mid 2010s no comments
I noticed this closed variety store on Leesburg Road last weekend. I am unable to find the full name of the place, but google streetview confirms the sign has been that way since 2018.
Mattress Firm, 3300 Forest Drive: June 2021 4 comments
This location of Mattress Firm is one that survived the big wave of store closing a few years ago, but it has now pulled up the sheets. As commenter Matt points out, it was just across the street from another mattress store, which can't have helped matters much.
Somehow or other I managed to drive by hundreds of times over the years without ever fixing it in my mind that the store was here, and probably dozens of times in the past month without noticing the closing flags. We'll see what comes next -- the location is not bad, with stoplight access and a good bit of traffic.

Chris Polson Automotive, 1618 Lake Murray Boulevard: Spring 2021 no comments
I did not see any sign on the door, and google doesn't know anything about it, but there are no cars on the lot, and the website is down, so I believe commenter Robert is correct that Chris Polson Automotive on Lake Murray Boulevard has closed its doors.

CVS Pharmacy, 2571 Forest Drive: 25 May 2021 9 comments
I'm sure I must have been in this CVS at one time or another, but I can't recall it if so.
The Post & Courier says:
CVS apparently is looking to trim its network of locations, so it is letting go of the location as its lease expires despite the strong commuter traffic that moves along the corridor daily, Mills said.
In the event, the closure was finalized on 25 May.
I will say that the drive-through here was a bit awkward.

UPDATE 5 July 2022: Add word "Pharmacy" to post title.
Boost Mobile, 623 12th Street: 2020(?) no comments
There are very few google reviews of this Triangle City cellphone store a block or so down from Zesto, so I can't really say when it closed, other than after the summer of 2019. Given every thing, 2020 seems like a reasonable guess.
Shoe Dept, 10050 Two Notch Road Suite 11: Early 2021 no comments
The last reviews I see date from the start of 2021, so I'll put that as the closing date. Whatever happened here though, seems to have happened in two phases, judging by the door sign. I know they were open during the pandemic, so it wasn't that, but apparently they had to close temporarily for some reason, and it just segued into a permanent closing.

Tootsies Childern's Shoes, 4517 Forest Drive: Spring 2021 no comments
It looks like Tootsies on Forest Drive will be closing soon, as they are currently running a 30% off retirement sale. It might be a good time to pick up some summer shoes before the beach..
Food Lion, 3975 Platt Springs Road: April 2020 (Moved) no comments
Here's another consequence of the Bi-Lo/Food Lion deal: The Food Lion on Platt Springs road has vacated its original location and has moved into the old Bi-Lo site on Emanuel Church Road. As of yet, there is nothing in the building.
UPDATE 10 May 2021 -- Here is the relocated store in its new location at 2916 Emanuel Church Road:
The Peanut Man, 1215 Lincoln Street: Summer 2019 (Moved) 2 comments
I had written in the closing for The Peanut Man at Sandhill that both that shop and this one had been closed to open the new store on Fernandina Road, but I never got around to actually doing a closing for this one, which is still vacant.
It's interesting that one of the challanges of naming yourself The Peanut Man and having a mascot is the fact, But he can't look anything like Mr. Peanut!.
Here is The State story on the move.
