Phone Tech 4 Hire, 1202 Sunset Boulevard: Fall 2017 no comments
Commenter James R mentions that this former Golden Wireless location is vacant again after having been another cellphone operation in the interim. Judging from this this Carolina Panorama article, I think that operation must have been Phone Tech 4 Hire.
Looking at the article, they handled a wider range of electronics & electrics other than just phones. Intriguingly, barber shop clippers are mentioned. I never even considered that those might be fixed rather than replaced.

Verizon Wireless, 10110 Two Notch Road: 5 December 2016 (moved) 2 comments
Amusingly, one of the google search suggestions that came up as I was typing this address was "convert to decimal". (Which would be 22 for those who care..)
Anyway, here's another phone store on the move. This one from this building to a brand new building constructed after the demolition of the former buildings at 10202 Two Notch.

UPDATE 27 March 2017 -- The new location:
Boost Mobile / Sprint, 7360 Two Notch Road: 2015 no comments
Midland PCS, 3910-C Two Notch Road: 2012 (moved) 2 comments
This little cell-phone storefront is in the Food Lion shopping center at the corner of Two Notch & Pine Belt Roads.
Judging from the Facebook page, they opened in late May of 2012 and closed possibly as early as late June 2012, or at least that's when the updates to the page stopped. At any rate, I don't think they made it into 2013.
There are currently several other vacancies in this plaza, despite Food Lion drawing fairly well.
Update 22 November 2013: It turns out this place has moved. The current address is 3950 West Beltline Blvd, Columbia, SC 29204, phone: 803-363-1353.
T-Mobile / First Cellular, 549 Knox Abbott Drive #B: 2011 no comments
Well, here is yet another cell-phone store closing, featuring both reversed and reversed-upside-down name placards. (This is not uncommon, apparently you want to keep the sign-boxes closed to the elements, without having to buy blank signs). I'm not sure exactly when this place closed, but it is in this year's phonebook (Feb-2011/Feb-2012), so I'm going to just say "2011". This little strip mall is on Knox Abbott a little west of Parkland Plaza, and just about across the street from Silver City.

Here's yet another phone store gone or moved -- the places seem to come and go overnight.
I wonder if at some point we reached saturation with everyone who's going to get a cellphone having one and business now is in upgrade and maintenance mode..
UPDATE 13 March 2017 -- This place is to become a Persona Pizza:
Coconuts Music / Alltel Wireless, 276 Harbison Boulevard: 2010 11 comments
I never go to the Harbison Starbucks since it is in the same parking lot as Barnes & Noble, which also has Starbucks coffee, and lots and lots of books. That being the case, I was only vaguely aware of the business next to it, which google suggests was an Alltel Wireless phone store. For some reason, despite the enormous popularity of cell-phones, these places seem to come and go quite often.
I did notice the last time I was at B&N however that the next tenant in the building is to be a Chipotle Mexican restaurant. I first encountered Chipotle in the DC area. To me it is definitely a notch below Moe's (though above Qdoba), and I am not at all fond of the hard-metal-edged industrial look of the places. The contractor permit sign states that they are adding a patio to the place. It's a shame that they couldn't do that on the back side of the building. Looking out on the parking lot would be no scene of epic grandeur, but I think it would have to beat looking out on Harbison Boulevard..
UPDATE 24 Feb 2011: Added Coconuts Music to the post title based on the comments, and fixed the spelling of Chipotle.
Sprint - Palmetto Wireless, 7320 Broad River Road #M: 2008 3 comments
This Sprint/Nextel store was next to the Kwik Kopy Business Center in the Publix plaza, and commenter Chris puts the closing date in 2008, while commenter Michael opines that it moved and then closed for good.
It seems to me that for such a large industry, with so few players, these shops move around and go under a lot more often that I would expect. Back in the day, you knew it was futile to go to the Southern Bell ("We're the phone company, we don't care, we don't have to!") office, but you knew where it was, and that it would be there forever..
First Cellular, 4712 Forest Drive: 2010 no comments
This little cell-phone storefront was in one of the more vintage strip malls left on Forest Drive, more or less across the street from Frank's carwash. I see in these pictures a sign on the door that I didn't notice while taking them, and which I should have gotten out and looked at. It probably either explains where they've moved to, or directs customers to another existing store. (There's probably an ap for that..)
UPDATE 15 February 2014 -- This is to be a Jimmy John's:
UPDATE 26 March 2014 -- Jimmy John's is open:

This Sprint cellular store is, or was, in the same little strip on Forest Drive more or less across from the movies that also recently lost Ela's European Market & Deli. I have a bit of a soft spot for Sprint, though I've never used them for anything other than a phonecard, because back in the day they used to do some interesting programming projects. My employer worked R&D contracts with them a number of times, and that led to me spending a good many weeks in Overland Park Kansas, which aside from maybe Seoul, is the coldest place I have ever been. I remember one project there where when I drove past a bank on the way to Sprint in the morning, it was -5F and when I drove back to the hotel after work it was +5F. I was also in the room once when the then president of Sprint took a call from Donald Trump who was checking to see if Sprint could handle the call-in volume for his Miss Universe pageant. At some point after that, Sprint cut out most of their R&D and became an off-the-rack operation though I doubt that had much to do with why this store closed..
UPDATE 1 Oct 2010 -- This Sprint store (and Ela's Deli next door) are now part of a 24-hour fitness center.
