M Kitchen, 340 Columbiana Drive: 28 June 2021 5 comments
M Kitchen was built on the site of the old Steak 'n Shake after razing that building, and is part of the peripatetic Myio's empire.
As of 27 June 2021, this location is closed, with the staf moving to Bower Parkway

Urban Cookhouse, 3000 Devine Street: 30 June 2021 (Moving?) 2 comments
The situation with Urban Cookhouse seems a bit odd to me and I suspect something went wrong. The Devine Street location (which was the only SC location at the time) closed around 30 June, and the place advertised a new "temporary" location in Five Points, which guessing from their Facebook Page was for catering only. There have been no posts to the page since 14 July, and no answers to questions people are asking there about the new location and opening date. Unless I missed an announcement somewhere, I think this place will not be coming back as a dine-in location.
Here is some (old) information from The State.
(Sorry that the pictures are poor, it was really too late in the day, and I meant to go back, but have not yet).

UPDATE 19 August 2021 -- Here are some better pictures:
Here is 741 Saluda, so I am still a bit confused about the status of things:
The Crab Trap, 31 North 2nd Street: Early 2021 (Temporary) (Fernandina Beach) no comments
During my Fourth of July visit to Fernandina Beach, I noticed that the historic Crab Trap restaurant on
Second Street was closed and gutted. We never ate there growing up, as my parents knew it was a fight to get me into a seafood restaurant, but as an adult I always meant to go someday have have the key-lime pie, probably with a burger up front.
I'm not sure when they closed, but looking around google & yelp & co, it appears that the last specific reviews are towards the end of 2020. I believe I would have noticed if it had been closed during my December visit, so I'm going to guess early 2021 as the date.
Their facebook page has announced they will be re-opening, and the way it is phrased sounds like it wasn't a sure thing. I'm still not sure it's a sure thing, as the place looks somewhat gutted, and nowhere near ready. We will see. I hope they make it.
Ocean View Seafood, 1904 Broad River Road: Late June 2021 (Open Again) 7 comments
As pointed out by commenter Tom, Ocean View Seafood on Broad River Road is closed for remodeling. The work seems to be ongoing, so hopefully it won't take too long.
I'm pretty sure this building used to be a steakhouse, but I'm not sure what chain it belonged to.

UPDATE 22 January 2023 -- Open again, and has been for a while I think:
Hardee's, 451 Killian Road: Mid June 2021 5 comments
It seems to me that quite a few Hardee's have closed recently. This one was actually fairly new, part of the Killian's Crossing build-up. As far as I can determine from google reviews, it was open as recently as two weeks ago, so I am calling the closing at mid-June 2021.
From the way this place is being totally gutted, I would guess they already have the next tenant lined up.

China Star Buffet, 327 East Columbia Avenue (Batesburg-Leesville): June 2020 2 comments
I noticed ths closed Chinese buffet in Batesburg-Leesville when I was driving through on US-1 recently. I can't quite place the fast food chain for which the building was originally built, but it looks to have been there a good while. The google reviews suggest this place struggled for a while before closing somewhere around late June 2020.
Salsarita's Fresh Mexican Grill, 275 Park Terrace Drive Suite 800: March 2021 4 comments
I don't recall ever eating at a Salsarita's. Moe's has mainly been my go-to for this category, and Qdoba & Chipolte have always disappointed. At any rate, judging by the google reviews, this location closed around March of 2021. It was apparently intended as a temporary thing, but once the signage comes down, I think you can mark it as permaent.

UPDATE 30 September 2021 -- As mentioned in the comments to become an Uberrito Fresh Mex:
Alodia's Cucina Italiana, 2736 North Lake Drive: May 2021 (Closed Again) 2 comments
I have never been to either Alodia's, though from looking at their menu once, I decided if I were ever in the right place at the right time, I would like to try it. The Irmo location is a bit removed from what I generally think of as Irmo: Way out on North Lake in the Publix strip mall.
There have certainly been a lot of staffing shortages on the path out of the pandemic. In fact we found one restaurant in Myrtle Beach we were considering going to that said up-front on their web page to expect poor service! Some of that seems to be at issue here, though I am not sure what the "product shortages" would be. The only one I have heard of is chicken wings, which wouldn't be much of an issue for an Italian restaurant (and which would affect the Lexington branch as well, I would think).
Anyway, they are apparently teed up for a July re-opening here, and I certainly hope that comes to pass.

UPDATE 6 March 2024 -- The storefront is now empty and for lease:
Also updated tags.
Nicky's Pizzeria, 2123 Greene Street: Summer 2021 3 comments
As far as I can reall, I have only eaten at Nicky's once, when I was in need of a late-night pizza. I don't remember anything specific about it other than it was fine.
The place has recently announced they will not renew their lease for this location, although the Lexington store will remain open. Asked for further information, they responded Frankly, as you can see at the link..

The Casual Pint, 217 Saluda Springs Road: May 2021 4 comments
I was not really aware of The Casual Pint, off of 378 in Lexington, behind The Mellow Mushroom, but commenter Andy reports it was a "fun spot", with "excellent beer selection".
They made it through the pandemic, but as far as I can tell from the google reviews, closed in early May of 2021.
