Old House, 9600 Garners Ferry Road: 1930s 3 comments
Here's another old house post...
This one is adjacent to the old Sedgewood Country Club golf course on Garners Ferry road right across from Beulah Baptist Church. Google maps suggests it may be 9600 Garners Ferry, but it's hard to be sure.
I had some pictures of this same house last year which I lost, but my impression is that it was in much better shape then. In any case, it appears to me that someone started fixing up this house at some point, and ran out of money or interest in the project. Since then, there seem too have been some major structural events with the back right part of the house, and the back left roof. Just looking at the architecture, I'm guessing it goes back to the 20s or 30s, but there's no way to say when it started to do downhill.

They don't build them like that anymore. The property was owned by the former Sedgewood Golf Course owner that picked them both up in a tax sale.
He had made some renovations to the building but was then murdered in his sleep by some drug addicts. WWII vets deserve better than that.
