Beef O' Brady's, 2742 North Lake Drive: Fall 2018 5 comments
I believe the only time I have eaten in a Beef O'Brady's was at Pawleys Island, in the unit behind the Waffle House that became DeRoma's Pizza. I thought it was a pretty typical sports/casual dining type of place and had a decent burger.
Not only did I never eat at this one, but I'm pretty sure I have never in my life been in this spot, or near this spot before. I'm fairly sure that sites like this busy Publix plaza are a pretty new development in the area. Yelp says that this location was open at least until the end of August, so I am just tagging the closing as "Fall 2018". Interestingly, the new Yelp listing for "B's" has the same phone number as for Beef O' Brady's, and the reviews tag it as very similar, so I'm thinking that perhaps the owners just wanted to disaffiliate so they could add their own touches to the same general formula.

Lake Murray Crossfit, 929 North Lake Drive: 1 comment
Come to Lake Murray Crossfit and get your drink on. Well not exactly perhaps, but the signage is still there. Commenter John R says that they have moved to the Old Mill.
I think the last time I was at Pastime Pavilion, I had driven all the over from Forest Acres to see "Mad Max" only to find out when I got there that I had read the listings wrong, and what was playing was "Max" a movie about a dog.

Mr. D's Steaks and Seafood, 938 North Lake Drive: Mid January 2017 3 comments
Mr. D's was the followup operation in this location to Gilligan's and as of Mid August 2016 was bought by Steve MacDougall, the mayor of Lexington who had already been general manager.
The restaurant's Facebook page indicates that it was in operation as late as 17 December 2016, but commenter Brian noticed it closed on 16 January 2016. As you can see, a note on the front door indicates that they planned to re-open on 1 February 2017, but the real-estate sign outside suggests that plan has been overtaken by events.

UPDATE 12 March 2020 -- Now Singh Leite Pediatric Dentistry:
Lexington Foot Clinic, 1207 North Lake Drive: 2016 (moved) 1 comment
I noticed this nice little brick office building droving from Lexington to Irmo a few weekends ago. Apparently the clinic has relocated to 121 Park Place Court, which is off of Sunset, just about where Monkey Joe's used to be.
UPDATE 25 September 2015 -- The new location:
Mari's Lake House, 1605 North Lake Drive: 2015 5 comments
Mari's Lake House was the followup operation to Bentley's Beach House in this North Lake Drive building in Lexington.
As far as I can tell, the setup was very similar, with even the same AMF Sunfish still sitting in the parking lot. I'm pretty sure the free beer offer was new though..

UPDATE 27 January 2022: Adding map icon. Putting in a closing date, which I apparently forgot to do originally.
Marble Slab Creamery, 929-D North Lake Drive: July 2015 4 comments
I had come from Pizzera Uno to the Pastime Pavilion in Lexington to see a movie. In point of fact, I was hoping to still find the latest Mad Max move showing though it was dropping out of first run at the time. I had done a quick google before leaving home, noting that the time and place for Max would make it convienient to a restaurant I hadn't been to for a while.
It all went well until I got to the theater and found that I should have taken time to click on the movie descriptions as well as times as the movie turned out to be about a dog.
Anyway, as I was walking back to the car in sort of disgusted amusement, I noticed the plaza's Marble Slab Creamery was closed. There were no explanatory notes or signs, but cleary the place had been cleaned out even though the marquee was still up.
Gilligan's, 938 North Lake Drive: Mid-June 2014 5 comments
A Three Hour Cruise..
I'm not too familiar with Gilligan's, but I know there was at least one other in Litchfield Beach which closed last year and is now an ABC store. This one was in Lexingtion on North Lake Drive just east of the Books-A-Million strip mall.
I think that clearly this building and the old Zorba's On Two Notch shared the same design. Whether that means this was originally a Zorba's or that they were both originally something else I'm not sure.

UPDATE 19 August 2016 -- This is now Mr. D's Steakhouse, now owned by the mayor of Lexington, Steve MacDougall. Here is The State story of the restaurant's opening, and here is The State story on MacDougall going from manager to owner.
Bentley's Beach House, 1605 North Lake Drive: Early January 2015 5 comments
Bentley's Beach House was the follow-on operation in the old Dam Bar & Grill spot.
It looks like the next tenant is already lined up with a sign announcing Mari's Lake House, thus continuing the "water" and "house" theme the location has going on..
