Cici's Pizza, 141 Pelham Drive Suite A: 17 April 2016 8 comments
After Trevin mentioned that this place was closing, I drove over and got some pictures while it was still open.. and of course now can't find them: The first picture above is actually from the Lane Bryant closing.
At any rate, I used to eat here about once a week while I worked off of Bluff Road. I didn't eat the pizza because pizza for lunch tends to shut down my brain for the rest of the day, but I would get the salad bar and some garlic bread. Shoney's probably had a better salad bar, but given my very limited time for lunch, I couldn't deal with possible delays in getting the ticket, and Cici's was self-serve and perfectly adequate. I also liked the fact that they always had a survey on the the ticket for $2.00 off next time if you filled it out. That covered the drink.
Not sure what the closing circumstances were. As far as I could tell, the place did a pretty good business, and in fact while I was taking these pictures, two different cars drove by, clearly looking to eat.

UPDATE 27 April 2016 -- Here are the pix from 12 April 2016 that I couldn't find before:
UPDATE 20 July 2016 -- Mod Pizza is open, but in the suite to the right of Cici's:
Cartridge One, 7382 Two Notch Road: late 2015 8 comments
It seems a number of toner refill stores have closed recently. This one, at the corner of Two Notch Road and O'Neil Court closed, I believe, late in 2015. I am pretty sure it was not flood related as this side of Two Notch was relatively unscathed.
The last time I needed toner for my LaserJet 1300, I had the cartridge refilled at Forest Park, but when I needed it again last week, I found a new cartridge on Amazon for under $30, so perhaps the business model works less well than it used to.
Cali's Cafe, 1124 Taylor Street: Early 2016 no comments
This little California themed sandwich shop opened on Taylor street in 2013 following Meatball Express in that storefront. The State did a writeup at the time. You can see their menu with Golden State city inspired items here.
Judging from Yelp, they closed sometime after 20 February 2016.

Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, 1205 Lincoln Street: 2016 1 comment
I was in the Vista today and noticed that Tutti Frutti on Lincoln Street was closed. I still never did get my 2016 phonebook, so I'm not sure if they are listed for this year or not, but I'm going to guess this as a 2016 closing. The place is currently refitting to open as a Smoothie King.
I confess there is at least one froyo flavor I have no interest in trying:
UPDATE 11 April 2025 -- I found some photos of he place in operation. In fact I actually forgot I did this post and started to make another post with them:
Also adding the map icon.
The Locker Room, 6201 Two Notch Road: Mid 2000s no comments
I noticed a real estate sign in front of this Two Notch building the other week and in checking further found an old Administrative Law Court decision that established this building was once The Locker Room, a name that sounds somewhat familiar to me, though I could not have placed it in this area.
The decision is somewhat interesting in that it is a denial of an ABC permit, mostly for the reason that the club's only idea for parking was a cockamayme scheme for valet parking to a lot two miles away.
I'm not sure if this The Locker Room was associated with the one in Eastover.
5 Star Rental Purchase, 7372 Two Notch Road Suite A: 2015 no comments
I noticed the other night that this rent-to-own store in Tillman's Plaza is gone. I think the logo looks alarmingly like Patrick. Ah, I see I made the same observation when the place opened in 2012.
The German Meat Market, 8502 Two Notch Road Suite D: April 2016 (Announced) / May 2019 (Final) 4 comments
I'm not sure if this place on Two Notch next to Tiffany's is closed yet, but it was in the final stretch when I took these pictures a few weeks ago. Apparently the owner is retiring. They opened on 4 April 2006, so that's a ten year run, not bad at all.

UPDATE 11 October 2018 -- I should mention, that for whatever reason, this place never did close. Perhaps the retiring owner changed his mind, or found a buyer for the place as a going concern:
UPDATE 11 February 2020 -- As of May 2019, this place is closed as per the comments. And the follow-on operation is All Lacquered Up Nails & More:
Ryan's Grill, Buffet & Bakery, 8671 Highway 17 Bypass: 6 March 2016 1 comment
Another day, another .
This location of the floundering chain apparently closed on 6 March, along with the Conway store, leaving the North Myrtle Beach location as the only one in Horry County (I have not checked on the one Georgetown location).
This particular parcel is behind Walmart at the southeast corner of the intersection of US-17 Bypass and SC-544. The area is still growing, with an active Kohl's/Home Depot strip across from Walmart and a Target anchored strip on the northwest corner. This resturant itself apparently did a very good business, but the problems of the parent chain nonetheless dragged it down.
Wicker-Mart, 6813 Two Notch Road, April 2016 no comments
Wicker is a general classification of woven furniture and accents, not a specific material. The term is used broadly for any item woven from natural or synthetic hard fibers such as rattan, cane, bamboo, seagrass, even synthetic vinyls and resins.
I just always figured wicker meant woven with those pencil sized plants.
At any rate, this longtime Two Notch stalwart will be closing soon.
The real estate listing has an interesting aerial picture of the vicinity, although I don't know that I would emphasize the proximity to the airport for a Dentsville property..
UPDATE 13 September 2017 -- This is now open as CK Beauty Supply. It appears to me they might have just left the "CK" in place from "WICKER". If so, clever!
