Ann's Fashions & Accessories, 1520 Broad River Road: Early 2013 no comments
Apparently this little boutique across from Boozer Shopping Center started on Saint Andrews Road, where they are listed in the Feb 2012 phonebook. I see an online review for them in the Broad River Road strip mall location from August 2012, so they had moved by then. I'm not sure when they closed, but they are listed in the Feb 2013 phonebook, so I would guess some time early this year.
Anthony's Old Fashioned Burger & Fry Co., 7457 Patterson Road, Suite 101: Early 2013 3 comments
Anthony's was the follow on operation to Ye Old Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe and opened late in 2011. It was connected with Anthony's on Two Notch from what I understand, and was aiming for the retro-burger market. I kept meaning to check it out, but somehow rarely seemed to be in that area when it was time to eat.
I think this location has problems with visibility from Garners Ferry, and also, the recent opening of Smash Burger, right in their market niche, a few miles towards town can't have helped matters either.

UPDATE 8 January 2020 -- Change the address from 7490 Garners Ferry Road to 7457 Patterson Road Suite 101 which seems to be official, though I have seen both. Add map icon.
Blimpie Subs & Salads, 3303 Platt Springs Road: 2011 3 comments
Well, it's back to Airport Tec Plaza for this closing.
Blimpie is not a chain I've ever tried, though I like subs. I think that's probably because a lot of its locations tend to be in gas-station/convenience stores, and that sort of devalues a brand for me. I do have to give them props for suggesting a non-submarine referent for their sandwiches however.
At any rate, this location anchored the east end of the same little strip mall where Marino's Bistro was

Central Assembly Of God, 721 Arrowwood Road: (moving) 12 comments
This church sits on top of a hill at the corner of Arrowwood Road & Gracern Road. Their driveway, in fact, connects those two roads, and winds through a pretty big lot. (The real estate sign says 13 acres). As far as I can tell from the church website, they had a very focused mission and must have closed up shop in late July or August of 2012. (I'm guessing that if they had moved, the site would reflect that, and a new location).

UPDATE 4 April 2013: Fortunately, it looks like they may be moving to Assembly Street rather than closing.
Marino's Bistro, 3313 Platt Springs Road: February 2013 5 comments
I was unaware of Marino's Bistro, or indeed of this whole little strip mall near the Airport on Platt Springs Road, until recently.
I like the sign for the plaza, which has a sort of retro look without trying too hard. I don't know anything about Marino's itself, other than that it sounds Italian, which is always an indicator that I will have a better than average chance of liking a place. I'm putting the closing date as February, as the new phone books (which you can see outside the door -- one of the common sights of a closing) came out then.
