I'm one of the members at CockyTalk that found the link to your site- which I must say, is quite impressive and interesting! I don't have the age worked up to remember most of the places listed here, but it certainly is interesting to read about what places used to exist around Columbia.
One thing I didn't find was the old Millender's BBQ. I ate there one time- the last day it ever opened. It was my first day moving to Columbia and I wanted "real" buffet barbecue- which Maurice's doesn't offer.
Someone told me about Millenders BBQ, so I made the trip and the first thing I said was "man, I am glad I found you guys- I've been craving good BBQ!" She replied, "well enjoy it because today is the last day we will ever be open." It was pretty sad.
