Interestingly enough, there was a place in Louisville, KY, with the same sign. I recall we called it "Joe's," as in, "Eat at Joes."

That place is run by the Arledge family of Bishopville...they used to own the Cotton Land restaurant where the KFC is now at the 15-401/I-20 junction.

I don't know why but I was scrolling down catching up and first read your headline..."Basic Advertising" and then I looked at the picture with it's empathic "EAT!" EAT!!!!!!
Doesn't say what, doesn't seem to care, it just wants you to EAT!!!! It was one of those unexpected laughs that makes you spit out what you have in your mouth. :DMelanie Gallant

Wasn't Cotton Land that place where a bunch of people got salmonella or something a few years back? Seems like one guy died, but I could be remembering it all wrong.

the guy that died at Old South was an Arledge...he was related to the Arledge family that owns the "EAT" establishment in Bishopville!
