Moriarty's, 902 Gervais Street Suite B: March 2018 3 comments
The Free Times reports that Moriarty's on Gervais is closed for good. The Irish bar, in the old Wild Hare location (for which I was sure I had done a closing, but in the event apparently not), opened in March of 2016.
Sherlock Holmes was unavailable for comment.

I went there once or twice and was not too impressed. it did not come across to me as "Irish" nor were there any references to Sherlock Holmes on the walls. Given all of that, I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.

I had their corned beef once and it was probably the best I've ever had. They claimed to have made it there.

I *do* hate to hear they've closed. In theory at least, an Irish pub should work in the Vista, no?
BUT, that location has *the WORST* parking situation. I admittedly never got a chance to go. Friends who went shared that service was hit or miss (at best) and the food was nothing to write home about.
Add to that, by the time Wild Hare went under, the place was pretty raggedy. Moriarty's owner must have had his hands full. Bar owners also somehow seem to think advertising is voodoo or something, as so few do anything meaningful.
All that plus the infamous "Vista rent" and I'd have been happily surprised if lasted.
