Nick's followed Tony O's Pizza into this spot, after that establishment replaced Steak Out.

I know they were open into January of 2026 based on Google StreetView, but they have now been replaced by Deno's Subs & Seafood. I don't know if that has any relation to the Deno's which used to be in Seven Oaks Shopping Center.

  1. Same owner(s), different name for the business. One day it was Nick's, the next day it was Deno's.

I THINK it is owned by the son of the people who used to run Deno's on St. Andrews. I know they have a son named Nick and that he has several businesses. I've also heard he's a bit shady which would explain the business names constantly changing, but [insert shoulder shrug here].

  2. Is this the same Nick as Nick's House of Pizza in West Columbia? They have Greek food there, too. Good stuff, btw!

  3. If you mean the one that's a little 'below' street level, I'm pretty sure not. I think this Nick's is a fast food chain.

  4. There was a place in Spartanburg with the same name and a similar menu according to this Yelp listing. https://yelp.to/dznlqy82g_ Perhaps they relocated to Columbia?

  5. There is also Nick's Gyros and Seafood on August Road, in the building that used to be Fat Boy.

  6. Wasn't this a Waffle House and then they built a new one nextdoor

  7. My recollection is that there was a Waffle House attached to this at one point and then they built the one next door that has been there ever since. The Waffle House portion was torn down but they left that part of it and it has been that way ever since.

Before this was Nick's I remember Steak Out was here for a while and prior to that I remember it having a gas station of some type (I'm imaging it having BP and/or 76 branded gasoline though we're talking 20-25ish years ago now).
