I noticed the otehr night that Hampton Hill Atletic Club next to Jimmy Johns in Shoppes At Woodhill had closed and been replaced by Stronghold Gym.

A little googling establishes that Hampton Hill went Chapter-11 (debtor in possession) at the end of June 2015. I guess in the end they were not able to reorganize and make a go of it.

Looking at things after writing the above, I think I may be wrong about this being part of Shoppes At Woodhill. It appears that Shoppes At Woodhill is the stores along Garners Ferry and Pellham Drive. The back side with Target, World Market etc appears to have separate signage.

  1. I always considered it part of the same complex. I remember when that place was a Food Lion.

  2. This got its start in the original Woodhill Mall. As I recall Eckerd was in there but moved out to where they are now at Cedar Terrace (Eckerd was rebranded Rite Aid in 2007).

In July 2002 the Food Lion MrBO mentioned closed up shop. Then one of the things that was mentioned in the February 2003 The State article detailing the plans to overhaul Woodhill into what it is now it was announced that Hampton Hill Athletic Club would move into the former Food Lion and they've been there since...such move happened that spring/summer.

I remember a store taking over the old Tapp's but I think whatever it was went out of business and wondered if anyone here remembers what it was called...

  3. I should clarify by saying that Eckerd was in Woodhill Mall and when they moved out to the Cedar Terrace location is when Hampton Hill set up shop before moving in the former Food Lion pictured here...
