Tiffany's Bakery, 9704 Two Notch Road Suite C: 30 September 2026 2 comments
Tiffany's moved into this spot in 2019, having left another Two Notch location for the Polo Road / Spring Valley area. Before that, I believe they were on Devine Street. Originally they ran a restaurant in this location along with the bakery, but closed that side of the business in 2024.
I think I have only been in Tiffany's once, at the first Two Notch location, and in the event I had come for lunch, and they had just stopped serving, so I didn't end up getting anything. I know my sister went a number of times and enjoyed it.
Now, having been around 49 years, since 1977, the owners have finally opted to retire, and the business is now for sale. You can read about it in The Post & Courier or The State.

Love-A-Cup Bakery, 2213 Augusta Road: 2024 2 comments
It's unclear exactly when this cup-cakery by the West Columbia Moe's closed, but by the time I got around to taking these pictures in late November 2025, the "Chapin" ice-cream parlor looked well established. Google reviews suggest it may have been sometime in 2024.

Smallcakes, 4400 Fort Jackson Boulevard Suite 600-B: 15 September 2023 no comments
Commenter Mr. Hat reported recently that this cupcake bakery in the old Kmart complex on Fort Jackson Boulevard, Rosewood Crossings, will be closing on the 15, and commenter Andrew provided this State article which confirms it.
Their Facebook has the same information, but adds they will be running specials for the rest of the week. Check it out and stop by if your sweet-tooth calls.

Blue Flour Bakery, 7703 Saint Andrews Road: 12 May 2023 2 comments
Irmo's Blue Flour Bakery will be closing this Friday after 17 years so that the owner can retire and spend time with family. Although I rarely drive this stretch of Saint Andrews Road and was unaware of them, the story in The State makes me sad I missed out on some very good looking cookies.

The last days are this Thursday & Friday, 11 & 12 May from 11am through 1pm.

Cupcake DownSouth, 1213 Lincoln Street: 7 December 2022 4 comments
I am not much for cupcakes (or cakes at all, for that matter), but I did notice Cupcake DownSouth on a walk through The Vista back in March of 2012, when, apparently, they did not have the word(s) DownSouth on their sign.
Commenter Mr. Hat reported this closing, which is confirmed on their Facebook. Apparently there is a Mount Pleasant location which will be open for an additional week.
