Go Used Tires, 7450 Two Notch Road: February 2012 (moved)   13 comments

Posted at 12:17 am in Uncategorized

I have written about this building on Two Notch near O'Neil Court before, as an old Esso station.

When I did that closing, I noted that the building was for sale despite being occupied by Go Used Tires. I don't know if they just got tired of living with that Sword of Damocles over their heads or if there is an actual prospective buyer for the property, but Go moved last month to another place I've done a closing on, the old Vintage Motors a mile or so up Two Notch and next to the old Lizard's Thicket / Perkins that's now Hero Korean / Japanese.

  1. Their new site used to be a SOC station.

  2. There used to be an SOC Gas Station on Augusta Rd right past where the old little tiny Piggly Wiggly used to be..but that was the early to mid 60's..from what I remember.

  4. It's right past the BP Station where the Pig used to be on the right side..I think it used to be a used car lot place at one time too.. but it's before you get to that intersection near Walmart.

  5. OH, and that Japanese place you see in the pictures right about these poststststs used to be "Perkins Pancake House".. I used to work at the one on St. Andrews Rd in the late 70's.
In fact that SOC station I'm talkin about looks just like the one in the pictures above this comment too.. They probably all looked the same.

  8. It may be a goodwill store now, but it used to be "Badcock" or something like that. There used to be a WinnDixie right past the old Bells Hamburgers place, but I think Goodwill is there now. I dont know what moved into that little Piggy Wiggy Store though. I never go through West Columbia much anymore now that I dont work for that slave driving West Columbia Walmart.

  9. Can someone explain to me just what a "COUNTRY MILE" is? I've heard it mentioned in songs and what people have said like "I'de walk a COUNTRY MILE for this or that"..Is a COUNTRY MILE different than a City Mile? Seems to me that when I have a wedding to video, and I'm out in the twighlite Zone somewhere in these little speed trap towns here in SC, and the GPS tells me that it's like 5 miles to where I need to go, I wanna ask it, "is that a COUNTRY MILE" or a regular City Mile?" I think these "Country Miles" are at least 5 miles more than what I'm used to. Any info would be appreciated.

  11. AH-HA! So it IS longer than a regular/city mile. NO WONDER it take for ever to get to where I need to when I've entered the "Twighlite Zone". Now it all makes sence. Thanks..

  12. I have been here recently purchased two used tires. Abraham quoted me 40.00 but the man that I payed wanted to charge me 45.00 for one tire 225/40/18. I think he is raising his prices if you don' t remind him of his qoutes. Still the cheapest. He also go the the other new tire dealers and get your tire and charges you retail.

  13. When is buying used tires a good idea?

The tires are the thing on your car that make contact with the road.

Bummed is what you are when you go out to your car and it's been towed.
