Holiday Inn, 8105 Two Notch Road: Summer 2018 (reflagging) 11 comments
As commenter c noted, this Holiday Inn is currently between flags and operating simply as Columbia Northeast Hotel (owned by Mariot, but officially branded during construction).
I drove around the building and did not see any major work ongoing so perhaps the end is near (though there were some romm fixtures in the back lot).
To make matters interesting, the hotel across the street (in the last picture) has recently been reflagged as a Holiday Inn Express, so if you booked this one when it was a Holiday Inn, and you go looking for it in the area, you are going to be surprised..

Hmm, people on the google reviews were talking about having booked it through Mariott, and it is in the Mariott system, though from looking at that I'm not sure it's bookable now..
But anyway, they say it should be a full Marriott in October.

That motel has gone through several iterations of names. A number of the teams that come in to play USC in football stay there.

It is in the Marriott system, but only as Columbia Northeast Hotel until the full renovation is done. Delta Hotels is a new division created by Marriott and the former execs of Sheraton. Delta Hotel Columbia Northeast will be the new name.

When this motel first opened it was a Ramada and stayed that way for years. Then at some point the old Holiday In at I-20 and Two Notch became a Ramada and this motel became a Holiday Inn.

In 1985 I was installing some new equipment for this Ramada's grand opening and ran into a fella there that told me he was in town to get a new radio station cranked up. It was FOX 102 and amazingly they have been on the air for 33 years now.
They had a lounge back when it was a Ramada that Oldies 103 featured with a weekly ladies night.

Technically, they were WWGO GO-102 in 1985. They didn't become Fox-102 until 1988.

Delta Hotel? Let's hope no one gets confused and ends up at the Delta MOTEL across from Wal-Mart on Augusta Rd in West Columbia. Always a hot spot for criminal and vice activities.

Columbia Northeast Hotel is the local name of the business through Sejwad Hotels. The new Marriott name will be Delta Hotel
