Arby's, 1222 Charleston Highway: November 2014 (Open Again) 10 comments
Commenter MrBill points out the Cayce "Arby's" is "temporarily closed".
I can't add any explanation to that, but I can say that there were staff inside, busily doing *something*, so I would expect that this closing really is temporary, unlike many so announced.
(Hat tip to commenter MrBill)
UPDATE 25 November 2014: Commenter Andrew reports this place as open again, so I have updated the post title to reflect that.
UPDATE 17 February 2023: Updating tags and adding map icon.

This was the first Arby's to open in the Columbia area.

This is probably to remedy the brief re-brand gaffe on Arby's part (the logo this poor franchise owner had to put up on his building only survived about a year before Arby's realized what a major screw up it was). So now they're left having to spend money, again, to match the new brand. This new logo looks like a winner though, so hopefully they won't have to close again for many years to come.

As someone who eats there frequently, I can tell you that the signage was not the reason for the temporary closing. They did that months ago. I'm suspecting some kind of plumbing issue.

I've always found Arby's intriguing. I had no idea this was the first location. I remember the one on Decker, being the first I went to. Then it seemed like they vanished, but showed up in Columbia Mall a few years later.

Back in the late 70's when I was going to Midlands Tech Airport Campus I ate at this Arby's a lot!!! Like Mr. Bill, I was also intrigued by the food. There was nothing better that a pile (and back then it was a pile) of hot roast beef on a bun with the BBQ and Horsey sauces with a side of potato cakes.
I still like to go there once in a while, but it's always for the roast beef. I don't care for all of the other stuff they have added to the menu.

Looks like this one is just updating to the new signage and decor.
