New Life Fitness World, 265 Charter Oak Court: 31 December 2013 3 comments
Well, the post on the Irmo location seems to have gotten a bit of traction today, so why not make a clean breast of it and post the final one?
The Lexington New Life Fitness World is off of Charter Oak Road, which connects US-1 and US-378 which are more or less parallel at that point. The gym is on a little court that seems to have some sort of failed building showcase on it, which I may post another day, though it is well behind the set of empty foundations.
This building is done in a completely different style than the other two, and seems to have had at least one other business co-located inside. There is something rather sad about the forlorn swim-noodles.
UPDATE 6 March 2021 -- Lots of recent development in this area, including a new Lowes Foods! And this place is finally open again, and is once more a fitness center:

My wife and I were New Life members for years. The closing caught many members flat-footed. We attended a class on the last night. Our instructor didn't know the gym was closing until she arrived to lead the evening class, and she'd already been there earlier that day for a morning class!
I sure hope someone else re-opens this gym. The facility is only about eight years old. One member told me it was the only one of the four in the Columbia area that was making any money.
Oh, and those forlorn noodles? They're less than a year old. At least now I know why my request last fall to replace the tattered flag was never fulfilled.

Whoa, that flag is a disgrace! Better to take it down entirely than fly it in that condition.

Great post....this is right near our house, and we had actually looked into joining about a year or so ago, and I'm sure glad we didn't! The place in front of it was called Carolina System Built Homes in case you decide to do a post on them. We contacted them about building our house and their customer service was awful!
