New Life Fitness World, 7000 Saint Andrews Rd: 31 December 2013 9 comments
Comparing the Irmo New Life Fitness World with the Two Notch one, you can see that the chain had a well defined aesthetic.
It's also quite a large building, and presumably mostly hollow in the middle. It's hard to think what could go in there without extensive remodeling. (Recall that Columbia Athletic Club had to be completely gutted to become Trader Joe's).

@Homer:
I found these pics on their Facebook page. I was a member there for a year a while back. The pic Ted took of the lobby connects to the main weightroom here:

In the second pic, the glass wall is the aerobics room. The small doorway next to the glass door leads to the staircase upstairs. The bigger opening next to that is the lobby (the grey tile floor) The brownish floor leads to the child care center (you can see the half door in this pic) the locker rooms and the pool.

@IrmoJeff - thanks for the pics. I was trying to wrap my head about possible re-purposes for the building and after seeing the interior I'm not sure what could be done with it....

I used to workout here several years back and always liked the place. The track though was a bit too curvy to make it useful for long distance runs. The many turns were tough on the knees after a while. It was kind of strange because the back part of the track, the section from IrmoJeff's picture above, had a number of independent businesses housed there. Their doors opened right onto the track. I think there was a salon and maybe a tanning place too.

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (PCA) has opened up an open field of some sort on the site where this building once stood...

I would love to know what the layout/floor plan of this building is.
