The Tap Room, 2910 Rosewood Drive: September 2012 5 comments
Judging from the reviews and menu, I think I might have liked The Tap Room though I rarely eat in the Rosewood Area. The building is somewhat interesting as it is on a steeply sloping lot at the corner of Rosewood and South Holly. From the Rosewood side, it looks like a two story building at street level, but from the South Holly side, you can see the third level below Rosewood.

I think this is the place that's opening as the Kraken gastropub - maybe already open?

The Kraken opened Sat. night. Not sure if there's a sign out there yet though

Actually, this place has been 3 different bars, and a restaurant in the span of the last 2-3 years.

Wasn't this the Cock&Bull for some time? Drank some of their great beer selection a few times, and had their great stew once. It's down Rosewood closer to the campus now, but I haven't heard any reviews.

That building used to have a fire escape-type stairway up to a door on the top floor. Local guitar repair god Billy Chapman had his shop up there for a number of years. I'm somewhat afraid of heights, so the stairs drove me nuts, especially when his door was locked! The door seems to have been bricked in some time ago, but it was in the same area as the Tai Chi sign.
