Looking at the Google Reviews, as well as the cafe's Facebook, it seems that O'Hara's was not making book as a table-service cafe, and tried converting to a counter-service bagel shop, which didn't bring in enough new traffic while alienating the existing clientele. This also invoved Rules #1 & #6.

The owners remain committed to the spot, and it sounds from the most recent Facebook post, that something new may be in the offing.

  1. So wait is O'Hara's Public House is still open or they did close as well? Kind of confused here on this one.

  2. Logan - Google Maps is listing the Public House as open, and there are reviews from today and yesterday. I guess it's only the bakery/cafe.

  3. Yes, if you look at the sign on the bakery door, it directs people to the pub.

  4. They posted this morning on Facebook that they will be reopening on October 14 for breakfast and lunch from 8-2 seven days a week.

  5. Hey thanks all for clarifying. The State also mentions the reopening here too:

  6. This will be very interesting! I thought it was serious mistake to abandon table service and do a 'grab & go' concept. This location is simply too difficult to access -- traffic and parking are busy in this area. The food has always been hot & fresh, along with the coffee. Prices might be tad high, but the service is really solid. So why mess with it?

I think another issue is folks thought O'Hara's the bar/restaurant was closed.

I wish them the best because the food is good and Lexington needs places like this. Just don't mess with formula too much
