The rebranding as Daddy Mac's lasted somewhat less than a year.

Gilligan's in Lexington closed on 6/15/2014.
I am curious about Ted's use of the word rebranding here. Was Daddy Mac's owned by the same people that own Carolina Wings? I assumed Daddy Mac's was a completely different company, especially from what I remember of their history as told in the menu.

Somehow I had the impression it was the same ownership, especially with the way it quickly flipped back and forth. I could very well be wrong.

I was surprised to get a dealsaver coupon in my email this morning for Carolina Wings. i sid to my husband, "I didn't know Carolina Wings still had a location in Lexington!" We were very confused at first that they were listed as being in their old location where Daddy Mac's opened. Now we see that Daddy Mac's closed. We had a good experience at that restaurant. It was very clean, tastefully decorated, and we liked the food despite bad reviews. The personnel did seem a little "off" though I can't put my finger on it. I'm a little hesitant to get that dealsaver though, the whole is kind of off-putting. Like, what are they trying to pull?

@ ted - They did change it back pretty quickly so maybe there was some connection between the two. It seemed to take a while for the Daddy Mac's to get set up originally though.

i saw the Carolina Wings signage on Saturday and thought I was seeing things. We had been wanting to try Daddy Macs but the only consistent thing we heard about it was that is was pricey. This CW was/is a good location, glad to see it back. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if this location closed before too long. The whole CW chain seems to be having trouble especially these bigger sports bar type locations.
BTW - does anyone know when the Gilligan's across the street closed? I heard that today that location was now out of business.
