Went in this shop about a year ago after seeing pretty cool dog leash. Spoke to the woman who was running the shop for I think her son. She couldn't give me the cost of the product and would have to ask her son. I guess I don't have to wait anymore. Never heard from them...
Moral to the story, Poor customer service and You don't last long in 5 points or Columbia for that matter

My take on 'gourmet' pet food is this. Most pets, cats and dogs, don't even taste the food they are eating. One gulp and it's all gone. Sure, there is the research on what's good and bad for animals and all, but in my experience with pets over the years, they can eat damned near anything put in front of them with no consequence. I don't feed my cats sweets and I don't feed them highly seasoned foods. Other than that, they are my garbage disposals. You name it and they will eat it. And I guess nature takes it's course to make up the rest, because they are still on the hunt for what they are lacking in their diet. Since I've had these cats I have had no squirrel, snake or mouse/rat problems like before.

I have to agree with you Homer. People will tell you about how bad it is to feed your animals table scraps, but the truth is there was no bagged pet food until the mid 1900s when Purina hit upon a great marketing concept. I have owned several dogs over the years that lived good and strong healthy lives eating everything.

I had a cat that liked tuna...for some reason the only cat food he'd eat was Chef's Blend

We do feed our dogs a I guess you could say higher-end brand of food. Not because it's gourmet though, one of our dogs has a food allergy so we have to be careful and feed things without yeast or certain preservatives. When all of these "gourmet dog treat" places started coming around, I had already been making my own dog treats for years because there just wasn't much available our dogs could have. I guess that's why I never really went for the pricey boutique style stuff. I can make the same thing -if not something better- at home. Also my dogs are all pretty large so they don't get the same joy out of a tiny $5 frosted bone as a smaller dog probably does.

@Andrew & Terry - a couple of our cats were kind of finicky too as far as the dry food goes, but after awhile they will be hungry enough to eat anything (and no, I'm not starving them)!!!
As far as the table scraps go, our cats ate like kings over the holidays. Whatever table scraps that were left ended up on their plates. They dined on turkey, dressing, gravy, leftover veggies and the lot. They seemed pretty happy about it as well....:^)

I duuno, I really love my dogs, I have three Shih Tzu's, or shit zoos's as we pronounce it. If you want a really loving lap dog they are the one's to have. I like to think I am a manley man but, I have cried my eyes out when my previous shit zoos have passed. I quit burying my loving dogs in the backyard and now and have them cremated, just so I can have their ashes with us. But as much as I love them I still hesitate to go to a specialty shop to buy cupcakes for them. I do feed them the best food I can buy but, I have never had an inclination to visit a store as such, so in my humble opinion, I am able to see why a store of this caliber did not make "The Grade" even in Five Points, close to some of the more upscale neighborhoods in Columbia. My dogs like carrots instead of dog bone treats and I think the carrots or better for them. I still give them a little ham from now and then but damn, I would want something different too, now and then.
