Prestige Appliance, 3905 Fernandina Road: 7 September 2017 4 comments
I blogged the relocation of Prestige Appliance from Sunset Boulevard to Fernandina Road in November 2014 when they moved into the former Fireplace Center.
Around the same time, they were building and opening a new store in Augusta. I'm guessing that they tried to do too much at the same time and got overextended. At any rate, as reported in The Augusta Chronicle, they declared Chapter 7 (simple liquidation) bamkruptcy on 7 September 2017.
I say "simple" liquidation, but apparently it is actually a bit more complicated than that since as you can see here, the merchandise and fleet are still intact at this location.

UPDATE 15 January 2018 -- Drove by on 13 Jan 2018, and they were having a liquidation:
UPDATE 9 July 2018 -- Not a great picture (shot from I-26), but now Chocolate Factory & Coffee Shoppe:

I guess this means that they do not service what they sell?

The Lexington location Lone Wolf mentioned moved to this one and such move was noted in the main post (with a link to the page where that one featured here).
It's a shame that these type of stores don't have much staying power but sadly Lowe's and The Home Depot have such a handle on the market that it's difficult for stores like this or Display City (which has had a couple of mentions here) to survive.

I'm sorry to hear of the business closing. At the same time, I'm not surprised they're gone.
You'd *think* at some point businesses in the Midlands would take note of what "the other guy" did wrong and make conscious effort to NOT do that same thing...
As someone who may or may not have worked in advertising & marketing for two decades, if your competition is asking for business and you aren't, you've got a problem. If you think you don't *need* to ask for business, you've got a problem.
Prestige Appliance also moved around to a few different locations, if memory serves (know they were on 378 by Target at one point).
