Here is the second Smart Choice location to feature here. This is an interesting little strip building of Broad River just downhill from the Bush River Road intersection. For some reason, this storefront seems to have a logo which the one on Two Notch did not.

I looked briefly for the Augusta Road location, but could not find it in the few minutes I was in the area.

  1. The one on Augusta Road is hard to find, but it is across from a daycare and right next to a carpet and tile place near the Sphinx gas station. There may still be a white van in front of the building with the Smart Choice logos all over it. I drove past it 4 times a week for 12 years and never knew it was there till I worked for the company.

  2. On a personal note, there are many many other ways to get money without resorting to borrowing from a title loan company. They are NOT there to help consumers!

  3. It's amazing to see how areas change over time. When I came to Columbia in '99, Broad River & "the St Andrews area" seemed relatively decent....or I was just young and dumb, which is totally possible.

Now look at it. Yikes. Going down like a sinking ship

  4. Title loans and body piercing! What more could you want in a shopping center?

  5. @Lone Wolf - you should have seen the Dutch Square area back in its hey-days of the 70's and 80's. Every weekend both Broad River and Bush River Rd. were bumper to bumper with shoppers trying to get to the mall and the surrounding businesses. Friday and Saturday nights the Dutch Square parking lot was made for cruising. All the kids circled the mall and parked to compare their rides and hope to 'get lucky'. The cops all looked the other way unless you were doing something totally stupid because they knew we were just out to have a good time. Those were the days!!
