Radio Shack, 1318 Bush River Road Suite D3: Spring 2015 2 comments
Here is the Radio Shack in the Wal Mart complex at the old Bush River Mall site.
I see this storefront has already attracted another business: Laptops For Less. It's a little odd that the Radio Shack marquee is still up there. Usually a chain which is still in some form of existence wants their logo off of former locations. And there *are* still some open stores though the present continued existence of RS as an entity is pretty tenuous at the moment.

A recent discussion on the liquidating Lexington Radio Shack prompted me to check on this one a little further and here's what I figured out:
The laptop repair business here has folded...there was a letter indicating plans to open off of Harbison (but it didn't say where) and they have a warehouse on St. Andrews (but it was inconclusive to me as to the address as the typed one was crossed off with a handwritten one) but then there was a sign directing people seeking laptop recovery a RCSD investigator...

You'd think they'd want their name and logo gone even faster considering this business that moved in is run by a huge scammer. His name is Robert Pachaly, Jr. and he's run a LOT of shady laptop repair businesses in the area over the years. He owes a bunch of people money, and he has a history of taking laptops in for repair and then never returning them. So more than likely he's selling stolen laptops. A quick Google search for his name and the word "laptop" will lead to some fun reading.

I feel like the RadioShacks that closed this spring have been sluggish with regard to getting the signage off their buildings.
Just this weekend I was in Newberry for a friend's wedding and I noted that the RadioShack up there looked like it was still open but I still kinda got a 'nobody's home' vibe when I saw it up close.
