Commenter MikeJ points out that The Pour House in Five Points has been closed since June, though it is scheduled to re-open soon.

I suppose it's been The Pour House for quite a while now, but to me this spot will always be Frank's Hotdogs.

  1. @ted - amen to that. Even though it's stint as the 5 Points Diner provided some dang good burgers for late night munchies it will always be Frank's in my heart.

The Pour House (at least when I was hanging in 5 Points) did have some pretty good food, cheap beer and some good live music. Nice to see my old haunt, Group Therapy, next door still going strong as it always will.

What happened to The Saloon next door in the old Elbow Room location? Looks like is has gone kaput...

  2. before the "POUR HOUSE" BEFORE "FRANK'S HOT DOGS" IT WAS THE "N & G GRILL" FOR YEARS.

It was across the street from "DON'S" that I owned from 1964 thru 1978...........

  3. When it was the N & G Grill it was owned by Nicholas & George Poulos, we nick named it the Nasty & Greasy Grill whichwas a misnomer because the food was really great. A lot of people including me went there to play the 10+ pool tables and to get "Freddie" the rack room boss to rack em up again for us!!!!
