Wow! This will teach me to stop throwing away everything from the credit union that doesn't look like a statement. Being in the Vista today, I drove down Pulaski Street to hit the no-fee ATM at Carolina FCU and was rather surprised to find it, and the substantial building in which it was housed, completely gone.

Well, perhaps not *completely* gone, as they are now working out of a trailer on Devine Street which is basically the same piece of property approached from the other side.

No ATM though.

(It appears the demolition also includes the old Gaines W. Harrison & Sons building at 724 Pulaski.)

UPDATE 15 November 2016 -- The Credit Union is now back at 710 Pulaski in a totally new building, or part of a building (it's also apartments):

  1. Their office on the end of Rosewood near the Garners Ferry McDonalds has an ATM.

  2. This is to make way for the Edwards Communities private student housing development. Still, wow -- didn't know it was happening already. And I was planning to hit the bank tomorrow morning.

  3. The Rosewood office Mike mentioned (if it is where I think it is) is the site of a former Quincy's...the Quincy's closed as all the others around have and then it was a Chinese restaurant for a while (don't remember what it was called)...

  4. I am fairly sure there is an ATM at the Russell House but it's probably more of a pain to get to than it's worth unless you're already on campus.

  5. Yeah, I'm not worried about finding an ATM. In fact, most of the other local credit unions are free ATMS for CCFCU members as long as they are in the CO-OP network -- I just didn't find the ATM I expected to find!
