Art gallery, coffee house and dessert venue, Nonnah's has moved almost directly across the street from it's original Gervais Street location at 930, to 923 Gervais. Somehow I never became a regular at this place. I guess in part that's because I want it to be Kaminsky's and it's not. Every time I've stopped there, it has seemed very cake-oriented to me, and I want pie, cheesecake, tiramisu, mousse and creme brule..

Here is the new location:

  1. Is this new location the old Garden Bistro location? I tried to visit the Garden Bistro a month or so ago and found out they had moved. The construction crew was remodeling for a new business. Possibly it was for Nonnah's

  2. I'm sure the Vista is happening based on what the younger crowd I know says, I'm just to old. I have no desire to hang out in clubs or bars anymore. Give me a quick pizza, a cold beer, and then, my most favorite place to be after that, my bed.
    Ahhhh... Now that's nice.

  3. Harpo Productions is Oprah spelled backwards. The owner of Nonnah's is .......

  4. @Rick - my sentiments exactly. Sometimes I miss the happy hours I used to spend at Group Therapy with people that were mostly my age. I quit going around six years ago after an illness made me start rethinking my priorities. But, I'll bet that we (and several other contributors on here) could sit around with a few cold ones and dig up a bunch of Columbia history!!!

  5. @Homer - You may be on to something here. Maybe you and I, along with TahoeChic, James, Badger, KCkid, Andrew, Ted, Jason, Terry, MrBo and other regulars to this site should meet somewhere for say, pizza and a cold beer one night, we could put a face with the name, and reminisce in person, if for only one night, which is about all I would be good for.

Wadda you say everybody? I'm in if you guys are.

  6. @Terry - That's cool about Oprah, But what is radar spelled backwards? There's a name for that isn't it? Words that are the same forwards or backwards.

  8. Went there Saturday to try the new location and it was closed for a private party. It's there business but we won't plan to go there again. Enjoyed Longhorn instead.

PS: the word is palindrome applies to a sentence or a word.

  9. I'm up for it. It will have to be in about a month or so. I'm putting in so much OT at work that I can't really schedule anything until the current project is complete.

I think it would be cool to meet the people I'm talking to on here....

  11. I am up for it. Like Homer, my schedule is better after mid-May. I am preparing for my final doctoral exams and need to concentrate on that until then.
