It appears from their facebook page that a commenter saw this location as Pancho's on 8 March, so I'm using that as a date, though it would have been a bit earlier.

I never ate at this location, but in general do like the one on Beltline. From the name, I suppose this is now a second location for Pancho's on Forest Drive in the old Redbone Alley building.

  1. I was really to sorry to see this change over, we went there last week and were not impressed. The menu has changed and some of the prices have gone up. The servers are now wearing shirts and ties so I assuming they are trying to be more upscale but it didn't work. The menu now reminds me of El Chico and I was never a fan of that place.

  2. I ate here last week. I thought the food was very good. But I did find one thing very interesting. Our server, and another walking around helping other tables, I recognized as being from San Jose's over next to Pastime Pavilion. I assumed they left that establishment to work at this one.
Even more interestingly though, I paid via credit card. When I got home and looked at my bill online later that night, I showed a charge from EL SAN JOSE LEXINGTON SC . Same owner I guess, with a different restaurant...

  3. Yeah, I ate here tonight and the paper wrapper under the complimentary chips said San Jose.

BTW - When did the sales tax in Lexington go to 10%? I was charged 10% sales tax on my dinner and the last I knew it was 10% in Richland, but still 7% in Lexington.

  4. We decided to give Pancho's another try last night. We really liked the old Casa Linda but Pancho's was just "OK". Anyway, they are now closed on Monday nights. This is an ominous sign, especially to those us familiar with Ted's "Signs Your Favorite Restaurant is About to Close".
