Napa Auto Parts, 7609 Garners Ferry Road: 2010 3 comments
I'm not sure when this NAPA Auto Parts on Garners Ferry Road, just across the street from Aldi closed. However, it's in this year's phonebook (which would have come out around Feb 2010), so it can't have been too long ago.
The photos are shot against the sun and so aren't too good, but you can see it's quite a sizeable building. It seems to have been a machine shop as well as a parts store, and so similar in size to the one on Millwood.
UPDATE 19 December 2012 -- It's now Kids Club USA:

This location was a shoe store (late '80s, early '90s) before NAPA moved in. I believe theft was a major problem for them. If I remember right, someone drove a stolen car thru the building and made off with quite a haul of $100/pair be-like-Mike shoes.

It does not suprise me that this NAPA closed, with Auto Zone, Advance Auto and now O'Riellys, all in the same 1/2 mile stretch, there was to much competition. I do not believe NAPA appealed to the shade tree mechanic as the other stores do. At the other stores the selection on the floor just seems better, one can go in and get replacement parts, or shop for a wide variety of aftermarket items, whereas NAPA appeared to be more of an OEM/Professional Mechanic replacement part store. Rarely did NAPA have what I needed whenever I did go in, or they would have to order it. I have shopped them all but find Auto Zone to be the best choice for the items I purchase. When I go into Advance it feels more like a social event than a parts store, I just want to get what I need and go. O'Reallys, as I call it, is okay.
