Here's another Jamil Road vacancy due to the ongoing/upcoming/never-ending Interstate work on I-26.

Lanier has moved to 267 Riverchase way in Lexington on what appears to be an I-20 frontage road west of the river and before the US-378 exit.

  1. Our first house was right behind here in a small neighborhood called Williamsburg West. The tree line in the pictures was right along our backyard. The neighborhood has fallen on hard times now but it was pretty nice when we lived there from 2005-2010.

  2. I remember this being Genco Pools at one point as well...

Part of how I am able to remember is back in the 90s I remember a WVOC commercial for a computer company called Glencowe (that's how I remember it being spelled as the jingle plays in my head all these years later) and I think the similarties in the names is what allows me to remember it (anyone else remember them??)..

The jingle I remember ♫ computer service is G-l-e-n-c-o-w-e; Glencowe ♫

  3. Are you thinking about Blencowe (with a B, not a G)? They are still around. My old job used them for IT services.

My best friend has lived in the neighborhood (she's also along the fence line) for decades. The neighborhood is obviously older, but I wouldn't say it's fallen on hard times. The people who live out there are all pretty friendly with each other and it's usually pretty drama free -- it's just not new and shiny anymore.

  4. As a neighborhood resident, yes, it is older, but other than a few bad apples, many of the residents have lived there awhile and still really care about our homes and yards :-) We are not too thrilled with how they left the fence and the garbage (some of which got dumped beyond our entrance. I was wondering if Lanier moved or closed - thanks for that information.
