CVS Pharmacy, 9712 Two Notch Road: June 2022 5 comments
Here's another CVS closing, this time in a down-at-the-heels plaza (which used to house Walmart & then Netbank),at the corner of Two Notch & Polo Roads.
Commenter Thomas says this one started as a Revco, and that rings a faint bell.

Just went to CVS on Knox Abbott the other day and the shelves were pretty barren. Employee told us that they are closing on July 13th I think

That former grocer looks a lot like a former Bruno's. But I didn't think they were in Columbia. Actually, I have no idea how far they reached. Does anyone remember them? Or possibly Foodmax?
But that really looks like a Bruno's.
And if it was a Bruno's, then there's a possibility that Revco was a Big "B" before it was a Revco.

I remember the name Bruno's but by the time I was in 2nd Grade (ca. 1995) it had become Harris Teeter...Bruno's was based out of Alabama and I remember hearing that the issue was that it was too far from their base. Be that as it may, Bruno's is now a defunct grocery chain (as is A&P)...be that as it may, I wish Harris Teeter would return to Columbia (and have hoped for such for years)
Revco got merged into CVS in 1997. I remember one that used to be in (what was then) Clusters of Whitehall and it moving to the Outlet Pointe Location that has been there since...same with the 800 Lake Murray Blvd location in (what was then) High Point Center into the Lake Murray Blvd. location that had opened a few years prior (ca. 1994/95).

CVS bought out Revco in the 1990s.
