M Kitchen was built on the site of the old Steak 'n Shake after razing that building, and is part of the peripatetic Myio's empire.

As of 27 June 2021, this location is closed, with the staf moving to Bower Parkway

  1. I consider myself well-read, but still had to look up the meaning of "peripatetic". That is indeed the perfect word for the Miyos chain.

  2. On a scale of one to ten, on how surprised am I that this location (or for that matter any other Miyo) is closed), I am a negative 50. She seems to close about as many locations as she opens.
I can't help but to wonder if she went to the Max Bialystock school of economics.

  3. Like Justin I had to look up peripatetic despite having the type of vocabulary that drove classmates crazy during my schooldays (and even guys I work with) but can see where that word relates to how people see the Miyo's folks as that does seem like the way certain folks here have described them over the years.

Here's the thing: I remember when Miyo's parent company was planning to open this location that the original gameplan was to replace the Bower Parkway location in Columbiana Station as the lease was expiring. The Columbiana Station location (for some reason) never closed (idk what lead to the change of plans). As was noted in the main post, a former Steak N Shake had to be razed for this and hopefully another restaurant will (one day) set up shop here.

I for one have never been impressed with Miyo's (and family has lead me to wonder if I'm the only one). The food isn't exactly a favorite of mine though I can find something to eat to make it manageable the times I have been.

  4. We ate at Miyo's in Harbison the other day. The food was decent, but the whole place felt shadowy and dirty. There was food on the floor near us. Nearby tables stayed dirty the entire time we ate, even though the restaurant was mostly empty - so you would think that somebody would have time to clean.

  5. Saw a sign on the door at the Harbison Miyos last night saying that location was closing and this one would be reopening on March 1
