Kangaroo Express, 680 Wachesaw Road: 5 August 2020 (Reflagged) 2 comments
Kangaroo was bought out by Circle K several years ago, and in the Midlands, most stores transitioned some time ago.
This one, in Murrells Inlet held on for some reason, though as you can see the gas canopy recently underwent the re-branding. As I was driving by, I noticed the boxed sign out front which would complete the switch, and I expect next time I get down to the area, Kangaroo will have hopped away.
UPDATE 20 August 2020: Add "Reflagged" to the post title to note this is basically a branding change.

I remember the Kangaroo Express to Circle K transition mentioned here...Have Your Say archives reveal that the transaction occurred in the 2015/16 time frame and I remember several locations transitioning...the following stores are ones I remember transitioning to Circle K that still are to this day:
- 806 Broad River Road
- Clemson & Hardscrabble had both a Circle K and a Kangaroo Express: the Kangaroo Express became Circle K and the original Circle K was torn down (that one has featured here)
- At Forest Drive & Percival Road there was a Kangaroo Express that had a car service bay and it got torn down and rebuilt
- In Lexington there is one at US 378 and Whiteford Way
- In West Columbia there is one at 1190 Sunset Blvd (intersection with Seminole Drive)
- one at US 378 & Mineral Springs Road that closed and has featured here (my recollection is that it closed as a Circle K and has featured here)That is by no means an exhaustive list but those are the main ones I remember off the top of my head but then again the following also happened:
- one at Broad River & Friarsgate Blvd. closed after a newer Circle K was built up the road (and has featured here)
- one at 3516 Bush River Road became a KC ExpressI also have a recollection of passing by one in Kershaw County recently that was still listed as a Kangaroo Express.
I remember in July 2017 driving through portions of Florida and being surprised that they still existed at that point as Columbia's locations had already transitioned by that point.
