Another day, another Radio Shack.

This is the one in Parkland Plaza in Cayce, and is another casualty of the chain's bankruptcy.

Comment: This is first radio shack I had to wait for the guy to come back from lunch. lol But anyway, I miss the old radio shacks. They should have never turn themselves into mini best buy and overprice themselves out of business. Miss those days of buying connectors, speaker, wires, etc... But you have ebay for that now. So sad

Comment: Another old RS fan joins the club!!

@ted - before all is said and done with RS you may have to put together one huge post to link all of the closings together. Just a thought (if WordPress will let you do it).....

Comment: I noted today that the RadioShack locations at Bush River Village and East Forest Plaza sold down to the bare walls and have closed (they should feature here soon enough)...

Comment: The RadioShack on Harden (Office Depot & Food Lion shopping center) is liquidating. The store was about half empty and I got a couple of things I needed for 50-60% off.

My wife commented that if they had only sold stuff at those kinds of prices, maybe they wouldn't be going out of business now.

Comment: Did anyone see the article about some kid that bought a bunch of parts from RS and built a gizmo that he used to hack into one of the new 'smart' cars? He unlocked the doors, started the car and turned on the headlights. I hate these new fly by wire vehicles. Of course, the article didn't say what vehicle it was. I'm going to hang onto my old wheels until I absolutely have to purchase a new vehicle.

Comment: I definitely see the rationale for ted doing so...

RadioShack locations at Bush River Village & East Forest Plaza have already liquidated. I think the Northeast location was fast tracking their liquidation as well but I haven't been out that way to see for sure.

The Marketplace at Harden store is also in the midst of liquidation proceedings.

Those (as they (in due course) feature here) on top of the Shoppes at Woodhill location & Parkland Plaza locations that have already featured here would make for a decent tag collection.

Blockbuster has had a good collection here (the West Columbia location on Highway 1 and Dreher Street never featured here and Firehouse Subs now occupies a portion of their former spot) so that one makes sense as well...
