Compton's Kitchen, 5343 Sunset Boulevard Suite L: August 2016 2 comments
This small Southern breakfast and lunch restaurant opened in April of 2013 as an extension of the original West Columbia location. Given the location and the fact that I rarely make it up in time for breakfast when I'm on my own schedule, I never had an opportunity to stop by though I do hanker for grits every now and then.
According to the linked article, Compton's replaced another breakfast oriented place, so it will be interesting to see if that trend continues with the next tenant.

The sign out front indicates that El Jimador will open here. This will be the second El Jimador location in Lexington. The first took over the old EL Paso location at 108 Scarborough Drive (out US 1 towards Lexington High School) when El Paso moved up 378 closer to town. It appears El Jimador has locations upstate in Easley and Clemson.

When this first opened I got a coupon in the mail and it was close to home, so I decided to give it a try. I stopped by at 6:30am and it wasn't open. The sign said 7am. I figured I would give them a couple of weeks to settle in. The 2nd time I arrived at 7am. The lights were on but the door was locked.
So, I wrote them off as not being serious about their business.
