Fellowship Church, 7820 Broad River Road: Spring 2014 3 comments
As far as I can tell, this vacant church on Broad River Road just north of the I-26 interchange was most recently Fellowship Church and indeed, they are listed in this year's phonebook (Feb 2014). Before that, comment Amanda notes that the property played "Musical Churches" with several moving and and out, including, I believe New Spring Church and Gateway Baptist Church.
While a For Sale sign was up when I took these pictures, but I can't find a current online listing, and I wonder if a sale has closed recently.
(Hat tip to commenter Amanda)

I believe Gateway Baptist was the original occupant. I joined Gateway at this location in 1989, by which time the original building (photos 6 & 7) and the children's building (photos 1 & 9) were both built. The gym came later, after my family had moved to Charleston.

This property has sold and will house Green Charter School when the school year 2017-18 rolls around...

Gateway Baptist was here for a good number of years. Somewhere in the 2005-08 timeframe they moved into their current Ballentine location.
Shortly after Gateway Bapist moved into Ballentine was when NewSpring was established here. They outgrew this building and in July 2012 they closed on the sale of the former Kmart at 99 N Arrowood Road (and the address was even changed to 657 Bush River Road). They also bought a former hotel next door and razed it to make room for the parking required.
Fellowship Church bought this site as NewSpring moved and NewSpring wound up worshipping at the Columbia Metroplitan Convention Center for a several weeks until January 2013 where the building overhaul from former Kmart to NewSpring Church's Columbia campus was completed and they've been worshipping at 657 Bush River Road ever since.
Fellowship Church apparently didn't catch on as easily...
