This spot at the corner of Main & Laurel Streets has been a number of things over the years, even over the recent years, perhaps most notably The Elite Epicurean.

I really wasn't aware of Chelsea's, having last written about the place in early 2011 when it had just quit being Club Dreams. Presumably, Chelsea's moved in sometime later in that year.

I'm going to take a flyer and guess it closed around Christmas..

  1. It's too bad nothing can stay in business long at this location because it's a pretty cool building. I worked here when it was a previous restaurant and it was really slow then too. I guess the location is a bit too far north of the central business district to get much foot traffic, even with the Mast down the street now.

  2. I don't think this was the former Elite Epicurean location, that was located in the next block up, not on a corner spot but in the center of the block across from the county buildings. it was a much less windowed building.

  3. It was the Elite Epicurean after it closed the new openers reopened many closed windows. I have a pic from when it was in business I'll send.

  4. I work downtown and even walked by that place many times at lunch -- i wasn't sure if it ever even opened. Never saw anyone there at any time.

  5. Al-Amir has since opened up a location in this same spot within the last couple of months.
