I knew a man Bojangles and
He'd dance for you..

But not apparently make chicken anymore.

I've had biscuits at a Bojangles's drive-through a few times in the unhappy event of being up that early, and they were pretty good. I can't speak to the chain's mainstay though, as I'm definitely not a chicken person (some are..), but the store on Two Notch at O'Neil Court seems to get pretty good traffic. Perhaps the nearby Church's Chicken at 2436 Taylor was a factor here.

UPDATE 19 September 2014 -- As mentioned by commenter Andrew, this is now an Asian BBQ place:

UPDATE 23 February 2024 -- This spot is now occupied by a Starbucks:

Also updating tags and adding map icon.

  1. I've always been surprised how long this place stayed open, based on the hood it was in.

Won't be long before it is a Title Loan place of some sort.

  2. I believe this was one of the first Bojangles to open in Columbia.

  3. I think someone's italics tag is still opened. Can I fix that? And I had a hard time placing where it was until the comment from tonkatoy.

  5. I ate there many times. I don't care for friend chicken either, but their biscuits are amazing. One of my favorite places to get breakfast, especially since it's served all day.

  6. I weep for the future if a Church's offers sufficient competition to close down any other restaurant.

The chicken egg & cheese biscuit from Bojangles is truly one of life's greater pleasures, though.

  7. I've enjoyed Bojangle's cinnamon biscuits a few times but that's about it since I've been unable to warm up to their chicken. I don't care for chicken on a bone because of how messy it gets.

  8. Funny - I just opened this article for viewing and what should appear in the ad space at the top of the page.....Popeye's Chicken coupons. How ironic.....hahaha!!!

  10. The Bojangles further down Forest Dr, near Walmart, has also closed, FYI.

  12. I agree with several of the previous posts. I love Bo's biscuits but the last couple of times I got the chicken, it left a lot to be desired. One time, I swear, the chicken had been under a warming lamp for the better part of the day. And the other time the pieces were so small I thought they had fried a Cornish hen.

  13. I had to do a survey here for their insurance a few months back. It was probably the most scared I've been in my entire life. Some guy from the 'apartments' (or whatever they are) across the street screamed and yelled obscenities and chased me down. Kind of glad it closed down. I am now aware of a new 'ghetto' in Columbia :(

  14. Lived in this area several years back. I'm not surprised to hear that this business closed down. It's a tough neighborhood to sustain just about any business.

  15. Folks, A place called Asian BBQ restraunt is about to set up shop in this former Bojangle's...

I'm unable to determine what type of cuisine they specialize in.

  16. I think Zesto's down the street also was a factor in their closing but hey always had a good lunch crowd from the Nursing Home and Providence Hospital next door!

And a KFC less than a 1/2 mile down the street on Taylor St. too might have been a factor!
