O'Charley's, 1000 Bower Parkway: 13 December 2010 21 comments
When I heard about the closing of the Harbison O'Charley's, my first thought was that I hadn't remembered one was over there, and my second thought was: Why Would I Go To O'Charley's?.
In fact it's always seemed to me to be a pleasant enough place without any real "hook" to get me in. I went to the one at Columbia Mall several times, and the one in Augusta at least once, and basically recall only that they had pretty good chips & salsa and burgers.
Interestingly (or not) this one closing made me try the one on Two Notch again -- I got in there, and found that a) they didn't have the chips & salsa anymore, and b) they were out of hamburgers. I had never heard of that before!
The State says that this one shut when the company
closed 16 underperforming stores Monday.
and that
The Harbison location was the only one in South Carolina to close.
(Hat tip to commenter William)
UPDATE 17 July 2011 -- work on the building and facade for the conversion to a Buffalo Wild Wings is ongoing:
UPDATE 24 September 2011 -- They're getting close.. and have certainly changed the look of the building!
UPDATE 31 October 2011 -- As commenter Andrew has already noted, it looks like they're set to open on 7 November 2011:
UPDATE 19 August 2022: Updating tags and adding map icon.

That sucks, and I don't see how this one was underperforming because everytime my family and I went to eat there it was packed. It's a great location for a restaurant though, even if you hate the traffic...

The one in Lexington is still open

While there still are the Lexington and Two Notch locations open, this O'Charleys didn't make the cut. They weren't consistently busy enough to make enough income to stay open. The Christmas season is usually the busiest for this location, but this was not the case this year. The location is great and should be picked up quickly.

If you haven't made it to the former Lehigh Outfitters (which was a Gateway Country prior to that) that used to be up the road from this (across from Target), you might want to. The place has closed and is being transformed into Shoppes at Harbison Hill (or something involving that name). No word yet on which shops will occupy said space so stay tuned as details are finalized

I saw an ABL notice that CWITT Inc. has applied for a license to sell beer, wine and/or licquor for this location so something may about to happen to this site but stay tuned for updates as details progress

I saw the following signs of life on this site tonight:
- the signage with O'Charleys previously covered up by a blue tarp has been removed
- the canopy at the top appears to be removed
- some of the doors appear to be having some work done on them and the door plan is being reworked
- several construction dumpsters are also present around this buildingso folks, something is happening here but I've stated all I know to say...

Interesting. The other two aren't near any established wing joints that I can think of, but this one will be within walking distance of Wild Wing.

After Ted suggested Buffalo Wild Wings and Wild Wings are within walking distance of one another, I mapped it out and it came out to 0.4mi between the two
Be that as it may, Buffalo Wild Wings opened up in the former Zorba's at Northpointe Commons last November and it's something like 1.8mi from a Wild Wing Cafe at the Village at Sandhill...

Buffalo Wild Wings beats Wild Wing anyday in my book. I'm glad they're finally opening up on Harbison about time.

I felt it was a matter of time that Buffalo Wild Wings would open up in Harbison. I even thought they'd be a candidate for the Columbiana on Park complex where the other restaurant is slated to go in*.
Buffalo Wild Wings is a very upbeat place to eat in my book but I've enjoyed Wild Wing Cafe the times I've been as well.
* my understanding is that McDonald's is planning to relocate from their current spot at Harbison Blvd & Saturn Parkway into one of the restaurant slots and it remains to see what becomes of the second spot.
I am in the Harbison area eagerly awaiting the opening of Buffalo Wild Wings, Columbiana on Park all the while wondering why they're doing interior demo work on the former Goody's at 120 Bower Parkway...exciting times for Harbison Blvd....

Another Steinmart? Did we really need another one? Probably not. I never made it to the now closed location on Two-Notch, but I've been to both the Treholm Plaza and Lexington locales and was unimpressed. Trying to be like a cross between Marshalls and Kohl's but with Hamrick's crappy selection

folks, on November 7, Buffalo Wild Wings will be open for business at 1000 Bower Parkway
It appears that the McDonald's will located at Harbison Blvd. & Park Terrace Drive is close to coming online and the Columbiana on Park Parking lot is starting to take shape as well...and I am also pleased to report that Harbison Blvd. will also have a *badly*needed* right turn lane from Harbison Blvd. onto Park Terrace Drive before much longer as well (and how much longer before they wise up and Columbiana Drive gets a right turn lane)...

Thanks for posting this. Would you believe I got $50 in gift cards to O'Charley's for Christmas? I had intended to visit this one.
I suppose now I will have to go to two notch. So you saved me a disappointing trip only to find this one is closed.
I never thought this place was all that special. So I haven't been in the Irmo one in years. Never been to the NE Cola one ever. First time for everything, I suppose.
