Wells Fargo, 2806 Sunset Boulevard: March 2019 5 comments
Here's another Wells Fargo branch closed, this one by the Lexington Medical Center on Sunset Boulevard.
My sister is a WF customer, so she got word early and I took these pictures before it actually closed. Commenter JB later confirmed that it had taken place. Eventually I will get some pictures of the empty building if I can remember.

@Rowen - Last year I worked at a bank branch in a small town/rural area (I commuted from a city). A fair amount of people in those areas go to banks. They often still do things in older-fashioned ways, even some younger adults. Or they work for an individual or small business, and their boss won't offer direct deposit.

Looking at Forest Drive, there is no sign that banks are going away. Southern First, First Trust, all sorts of nonsensical word salad names.

Folks I have encountered signage leading me to believe that this property has sold...

This property was bought by Lex Med who repurposed it for some project or department. On Monday (7/31/23) when I was on the way to work, I saw that there was an excavator in the middle of the building tearing it down. All that is left at this point is the vault. I'll post more if I find out what they are building here to replace it.

Retail Bank apocalypse is real.
Between consolidation, direct deposit, e-payments, and online loan applications, how many people still visit a bank for recurring transactions? Other than senior citizens who withdraw all of their SS deposits the first week of the month?
