Pelican's SnoBalls, 1900 Rosewood Drive: Fall 2016 (moved) 8 comments
Speaking of Pelican's (as we just were), I noticed that the Rosewood location is gone.
This was the follow-on operation in this building to Charlie's Barber Shop.
I'm not totally clear on what is going on. The real estate sign says that they have moved to 1912 Rosewood, which, as far as I can tell, is a vacant lot.

This place is seasonal and this location was plagued by parking problems. There were only 4 or 5 parking spots in their parking lot & people tended to park on the street and blocked local traffic. Crossing Rosewood from the vacant family dollar across the street was a non-starter with kids.
The empty lot down the street is where they told people to park so they must be planning on building something at that location.

Noticed today that the construction is coming along at the old Tony's location.

Also noticed a location on Sparkleberry close to Spring Valley HS has an opening date of March 1st. Not sure if this is a new or existing location. Never had noticed it before.

That's the former Bruster's. It was just closed for the winter.

There's a pelican now as of 2017 I think on decker Blvd where Longhorn's is but it's not open until summer hits.

I drove past Pelican's on Saturday, and from a glance, I believe I saw some cars, so I think it's safe to say that's it now open.

I’ve noticed that several other Pelicans were closed for the winter so I bet that is going on with this one...

Hey everyone! We've been all over the place with that location. We set some records for snoballs sales there but parking was definitely an issue. We bought that parking lot at 1912 Rosewood and have now successfully moved over there. We converted an old storage building/dumpster screen into a fully usable building. We were the first in the area on Rosewood but plenty of locations have popped up. These pics were taken during an unsuccessful attempt to sell our spot early and use the $ to build out the new one. We ended up opening back up at 1900 to save $ up for another year to try again.
This was Charlie's Barber Shop. I work with Charlie's son. Charlie did quite well for himself as a barber from what I understand. Maybe the snowball did not work because some found hair in the balls. Just guessing. There was a ice cream place in Cedar Terrace shopping center years ago, we used to laugh at the sign above the place because they shared it with a hair salon called "Just Hair" the sign on top said 'Ice Cream' and just underneath it said ' Just Hair' we were a little skeptical about buying the ice cream.
